I can't even assume a single thing, because I still really have no idea what's going on. :(
All I can assume is: If you secretly dig a tunnel under a building, you're trying to go somewhere without being seen.

... Or you're a Vampire and need to travel during the day, but don't want to put a coffin in a van and have a servant drive you around.
