Hola amigos,

I have some bad news to share with you. I won't be able to join you for taco Tuesday this week, or any week for that matter. I just got a letter from ICE saying that they are deporting me back to Mexico. Apparently, they don't care that I was born here, or that I have a green card, or that I'm the son of God. They just want me out of their country.

I don't understand why they are doing this to me. I've been a good citizen, a good neighbor, and a good friend. I've never committed a crime, or cheated on my taxes, or hurt anyone. I've always tried to spread love and peace, and to help those in need. I've even performed some miracles, like turning water into tequila, or multiplying the tacos, or healing hangovers. You know I love you all, and I love this country.

But I guess that's not enough for them. They don't want me here, because of the color of my skin, or the sound of my accent, or the shape of my beard. They don't see me as a human being, or a child of God. They see me as a threat, or a burden, or a scapegoat. They see me as an illegal alien, or a criminal, or a terrorist. They see me as someone who doesn't belong here, who doesn't deserve to be here, who doesn't have a right to be here.

So I have no choice but to leave. I have to pack my bags, and say goodbye to my family, and my friends, and my life here. I have to go to a place where I don't know anyone, where I don't speak the language, where I don't feel at home. I have to go to a place where I might face violence, or poverty, or persecution. I have to go to a place where I might not be welcome, or safe, or happy.

I'm sorry, amigos. I'm sorry that I won't be able to share tacos with you anymore. I'm sorry that I won't be able to laugh with you, or cry with you, or pray with you. I'm sorry that I won't be able to be your friend, or your brother, or your savior. I'm sorry that I have to leave you.

But don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I have faith that God has a plan for me, and that He will take care of me. I have hope that one day, things will get better, and that I'll be able to come back. I have love for you, and for everyone, and for myself. I have love that is stronger than hate, and fear, and injustice. I have love that is bigger than borders, and walls, and laws. I have love that is eternal, and divine, and unconditional.

So please, don't be sad for me. Be happy for me. Be happy that I had the chance to know you, and to be with you, and to serve you. Be happy that I gave you some joy, and some comfort, and some grace. Be happy that I showed you some kindness, and some compassion, and some forgiveness. Be happy and enjoy some tacos, and some tequila, and the glory of God.

Please, don't forget me.

And please, don't give up on me. Pray for me. Pray that I'll be safe, and healthy, and happy. Pray that I'll find a new home, and a new family, and a new purpose. Pray that I'll make a difference, and a change, and a legacy. Pray that I'll see you again, and hug you again, and thank you again. Pray that I'll have another taco Tuesday, and another tequila shot, and another miracle.

I love you, amigos. I love you more than you can imagine. I love you with all my heart, and all my soul, and all my strength. I love you as I love myself, and as I love God. I love you as Mexican Jesus.
