Yes, RoundUp is a herbicide, so that makes sense, but it is also widely used as a desiccant. This is where they spray the field shortly before harvesting it, to prematurely kill and dry the plant and encourage more even ripening. This is typically not much longer than a week before harvest, although recently they've started trying to pretend that they wait several weeks.

This practice is well know for grains such as Wheat, but most people don't realize that with today's high turnaround industrial farming, desiccation is done to many types of crops.

Maybe, I haven’t noticed that but I will look for it this year. We have bean crops, tomatoes, wheat, rice, safflower, sunflower, etc.
