It's at least partly because M7 has a love/hate relationship with the kind of people who would want to use a site like this. Unfair bannings cause other users to leave out of sympathy for the victims. The site has gone offline for multiple days at a time twice in the past couple months. M7 thought it would be a good idea to make a teenage boy pretending to be a girl one of the admins, and their erratic behaviors drive users away. Spam on the front page is out of control, and is probably the bulk of site traffic starting on March 21st.

🇮🇳 India 48.1%

Scroll down to the usage graph, and while you can't see it anymore, that massive jump on 3/21 was preceded by many months of a steady decline. You can't trust Alexa to be totally accurate, but that is a weird and dramatic surge in site traffic that doesn't appear authentic.

a free speech platform.

It's definitely not. But what's really unfortunate is that saidit is still one of the best commenting/link-aggregator sites around, despite all those flaws.

When PuttItOut suicided voat, M7 talked about how he keeps costs low for saidit, apparently unlike old voat. So I assume he's just absorbing the ongoing costs. (Or someone is paying to study us, but probably not.) Saidit could be great again if it just became an actual free speech site, and found a way to eliminate most of the spam.

Saidit was antiextremes.com when I made my account, and despite the name change, the policy of fence-riding that lingered has kept numbers low enough that driving even a few active users away really hurts the site. I don't have the tech skills or the patience to run a site like this, so I very much appreciate the work M7 has put into saidit, even if some of his efforts have (imo) hurt more than helped.

As for your discussion of niggers, and the people aware of them, it's helpful to have an accurate view of reality. Niggers are simply unable to adjust their behaviors to fit the norms of civilization. This is a problem for those of us who would prefer to live in a functional society.

Everything you just said is wrong.

    Try to make a counter-argument.

By "erratic behaviors drive users away" he really means:

Attacking other users as a site admin on a number of occasions.

    It [spam] ain't that bad.

    It's been worse, agreed.

What he really means by this [the policy of fence-riding] is

Like the word anti-extremes implies, ignoring factors like rightness and morality over simply mounting the fence between two positions, then censoring anything too far from the fence.

Node and the other s/debatealtright idiots want CCP-level censorship

    s/debatealtright idiots

    Nice example.

Attacking other users as a site admin on a number of occasions.

Which really means: I have unpopular opinions (like banning liquor) that offend snowflake neo-Nazis, so they have to go cry in their safe-space like a commie SJW.

Like the word anti-extremes implies, ignoring factors like rightness and morality over simply mounting the fence between two positions, then censoring anything too far from the fence.

Ohhhhh, that's what you mean. I agree with what you're saying, then, since Magnora7 did ban people and subs for being "too extreme" and I don't think he should'a done that. I thought you meant the opposite: that non-right-wingers should be banned.

Node - you're totally confused, and certainly wrong about several issues in your post. People like you turn people away from Saidit. For example, would any self-respecting person of color want to remain at Saidit, whilst reading your racist idiocy. Saidit can be an interesting place for debate and discussion, because of it's lax policies, but the verbal violence by people like you against others you don't agree with gets old and is really annoying. Some of your concerns about spam I agree with, and have argued in the past that Saidit requires more admins who can help deal with the obvious spammers. But as /u/TheAmeliaMay indicates, snowflakes who merely want to drag the conversation down are a serious problem at Saidit. Merely buck up and get on with the discussion, as you've done in part of your post.

Sorry abou that. Sometimes I think Node and others are only here to rant and be assholes, as if they have a mental illness and use Saidit as a cathartic avenue. Some of these people are also quite active on the site. One could remind Node that in Nazi Germany, one could be sent to the concentration camps and die there because they had similar "anti-social" mental illnesses. I've said before that Saiditors shouldn't throw stones in glass houses, because a "free speech" site should be the most tolerant of the broadest selection of voices (lunatics included). Silly me.

The Node account is a paid social media influencer whose job is to disrupt and demoralize the site's users.

As if someone could pay me enough to become an employee... You, on the other hand, are the definition of a paid poster.

You consistently and deliberately act in a manner to disrupt the site. I'm just some guy who posts.

""erratic behaviors drive users away" he really means:.." No, he means what he means and it doesn't require any translation or explanation and he's right! I've seen quite a bit of erratic behavior here from what few users actually use this place. It seems much more like psyche ward than a forum but that's also what makes it entertaining, too; watching the delusional and those who're hallucinating their way through life go through their various motions and it has nothing to do with popular or unpopular opinions and anyone who says that is just trying to manipulate all of us.
