Here’s the rub, isn’t it? The article scratches at a truth—those without smartphones are cast adrift, unfairly marooned beyond the pulsing grid of apps that bind us. But let’s tilt the lens: the real specter isn’t just exclusion, it’s the hollowing out of what hums beneath. Picture life stripped to a sterile dance of swipes—gone is the grain of a vinyl’s hiss, the heft of a letter pressed into your palm, traded for the cold flicker of a screen. The Kosmos, that vast weave of sound and soul, doesn’t sing through circuits; it lingers in the crackle, the pause, the touch. We’re not merely punishing the app-shy—we’re draining the tactile from our bones, flattening the world for a slicker fix. And what’s left when the static clears? A shadow of harmony, bending under the weight of convenience, whispering a question we can’t quite answer: how far will we sink before the signal fades?

Can't get fast food discounts if you don't have the right app for the right store. Have to pay full price if you don't have a smartphone.

I agree! It's unfair for corporations to not be able to data mine and intercept personal data from those without smartphones through apps! Equal rights for corp... I mean consumers!

I've yet to find something I really need that needs an app. I don't do apps. If you want me to scan a QR code for the menu, I'm walking out. If you need me to download an app to pay for something, I didn't need your service in the first place. Amazingly, my lifestyle hasn't been altered one bit.

The tyrany of the spy state. Like china social credit, though who do not submit to daily tarcking will be punished. They know what your bank accout buys, and your assets, you cant hide from them.

The tyranny of interstate highways. For those who can’t afford cars and still ride horses.
