I've been thinking about a similar thing. The Democrats in power really are smarter than we give them credit for. They have created this enemy, the Trumpster via the Jan 6 insurrection "terrorists". These people have no power, they've all been fired, arrested, disgraced, virtually eliminated from society. Yet they are the target of the woke leftster. Meanwhile, the Democrats in power are more powerful, disgustingly better off today than a year ago, wealthier, connected, decision making for their own best interest. They have basically given nothing to their constituents, in fact have harmed them drastically through the above masking, restrictions, inflation, etc etc. And they have paid nothing for it, maybe a few percentage points in the polls, but my guess is by the next election more Covid-fear, or they'll have another black man killed somewhere so they can get elected again and demonize all Republicans (who willingly go along and enrich themselves as well).
