"Companies should consider race, gender and ethnicity when deciding who to let go."

And the whole point of DEI is that they are supposed to consider race, gender, and ethnicity when deciding who to hire.

It's suicide. These people are racists, and because racism is a disease of ignorance and stupidity, they will die before they admit the false premise they are operating under.

Simple logic: Two companies, one which hires the most skilled in their field, the other which hires the most DEI acceptable in their field. The only way the second company can be successful in a fair competition is if there is either no difference or an advantageous difference between the proportion of skilled people within the DEI community and that of the broader community. The odds of that approach zero.

Which means the DEI companies will be able to compete only in a rigged environment. Rigging is inefficient. This means the quality of whatever the product is goes down. Translate this into the broad economy - with many DEI firms - and the economy shrinks. Looks like precisely what is happening to me (combined with other headwinds, broadly categorized as ESG).

Our economy is disintegrating because we've prioritized moral purity over the actual production of the things the economy produces.

The result is not surprising, but it is tragic to watch. These morons are absolutely clueless of the actual harm they are doing - including to themselves - by getting stuck in a moral soup of racism and genderism. They are the racists. How to get them to recognize this and knock it off?

It should be self-evident that choosing from a larger pool of candidates is always better. In theory DEI could help here if it's like "Hey, About about Gloria? She's good at X, you're not overlooking her just because she's a woman, are you?" But in practice DEI more often introduces additional bias with things like arbitrary quotas, which of course is the opposite of what you want since that limits your pool instead of expanding it.

It's communism without being called that.
