Given the history of our "clandestine services" I can't help but wonder if they were all murdered by the CIA and it is all a coverup.

Utah? Would it be unreasonable to guess that they were Mormons? Dead household? I'm betting the wife filed for divorce or the husband was no longer employed. Regardless, this is tragic. "White" Americans numbers are already in decline. It doesn't need this to help it on it's way.

The wife filed for divorce apparently.

Since this is south Utah, I'd not be surprised if it's connected with the polygamous cults down there as well. Lots of shit happens.

There was a whole Mormon family down in Mexico that got offed by drug dealers, but turns out they were an offshoot from the polygamous cult living down there to avoid the feds and had gotten into the drug trade and pissed off some cartel boss. Not quite as innocent or random as the headlines would have you believe. Though the cartels cruelty in murdering the whole family should not be overlooked.

In this case I'm guessing it's likely fucked up Mormon ideology concerning relationships and divorce caused the man to snap when the marriage fell apart.

Because you've not snapped and gone criminally insane. Once you decide to be evil anything is possible.

It's the meaning behind the Jewish creation myth with the fall of man. The tree of knowledge opens your eyes and makes you like God, able to know both good and evil, whereas before if you cannot know what is evil you cannot imagine the evil act.

We say such things are unthinkable, but that is merely a lie we tell ourselves because we understand that the act is truly evil, and we are ashamed at our own ability to commit such atrocities we prefer to pretend that we cannot.

Something in this man's life convinced him to embrace evil. He was presented with the choice to trade his humanity in order to become a demon and he made the trade. Sold his soul for power. Or the feeling of power. The capability to commit evil was there but the soul is what stops you. Sell your human soul for power simply means giving up the one thing that keeps you from becoming an animal driven by emotion and base drives alone, once gone you gain the ability to do the unthinkable even to the point that you lose your own sense of self-preservation.

These guys always have a history of controlling behaviour. In their mind they own these people so can do with them what they like. And if they are going to kill themselves they likely think the others won't have any point in living as they are so important.
