blows my mind that they would put up props and perform a drama this spectacular, instead of giving in. on second thoughts, it doesn't. there has to be some serious money backing this.

How incredibly improper for police to be staging propaganda shows in any case.

Defund Canadian police.

Protesters can go to police officer's homes and protest in front of them.

Apparently it was for a photo op for corporate media - then they returned the fuel. I'm thinking this was worse.

Wow. That's some second-level shit there.

Why worse? If the police are giving them back the fuel, that is a sign they (at least cops on the ground) are good with the protest continuing? Sign of police cooperation with the protesters? What am I missing?

Stealing fuel and supplies is a war crime against humanity, apparently.

They don't want to be caught in this trap. It's a loophole. Serving the oppressors and liar media. Deceptive. Corrupt. Some police are good and some are not - all follow orders.

Sounds like they got caught and did the old “it’s just a prank bro” excuse.

to try to freeze them to death

Meh. This seems a weak point. It seems obvious even to me as a supporter of the truckers that those who lose fuel will not stay and freeze to death, rather will go find shelter elsewhere.

The downside to this strategy from the side of the fascists is that trucks without fuel become that much more inert metal sitting blocking movement. If they think this is going to cause the truckers to leave the field when they run out of fuel (i.e. go away), that seems unlikely in the current dynamic.

That is like trying to hit someone with your car but claiming it isn't attempted homicide because you expect them to jump out of the way.

This subthread between you and me is a moot point assuming what JasonCarswell says above is accurate.

Well, just between you and me, I don't trust that guy.

Apparently, the cops must return the fuel to where it was taken. Not just dump it off on a corner somewhere.

The cops are getting exhausted. The truckers are invigorated.

Snipers have already been on the rooftops. 1800-3000 riot police are on their way.

MANY more civilians are on their way to "hug" Ottawa, from all sides, to surround the city even if they can't get into the downtown core (where I used to live in 2006-2007).

Where’s the outcry from the left? Isn't it ACAB? But I guess this is ok to them.
