Not at all. There's a rich (pun intended) history going back to the demented Sabbateans and beyond that involves manipulation, deception, and corruption. I only use "elites" when pressed for space (ie. memes, hashtags, etc), but more generically call them the ruling class, perpetually at war with the lower classes. "Admit nothing, deny everything, make counter accusations," and steal everything else. But they do it artfully with skill and spin so that the people still have faith in their authority. Much of the deceptions is wrapped up in perpetual suffering, not unrelated to exploitation including mass murder (ie. wars, bioweapons, sanctions, engineered poverty, etc).
