Your comment was interesting because of the popular mantra we're being told "Don't hate the player, hate the game". You make a good point to do the opposite.

Same thing as 'absolute power corrupts absolutely'. These types of slogans convert people into defeatists essentially by making them think abstractly rather than concretely which causes them to universalise particular problems. Libertarians and anarchists, for example, think governments/states are all bad just because the current jewish occupations suck, Marxists think private property and currency shouldn't exist because of the excesses of capitalism; and, again, jews sucking. When someone is made to think abstractly and ideologically, rather than analysing real material conditions, it causes them to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

This particular example isn't a case of the abstraction problem though, this is more akin to focusing on particular soldiers in an army rather than the commanders, generals etc.
