I often see this take in reference to how folks who opposed the civil rights movement went on to become MAGA and anti-CRT, or that politicians who already were of age in that era are still serving today.

This is why they are also stern on B&W photos of the time which are seen as twisting the CRM to make it seem far more distant from today.
