I liked it but it drags a bit in the later seasons. My favorite parts were the socio-political conversations in the first season between Don and the owner. Those were interesting.

The big poz part I saw was semi normalized divorce sub plot. People did divorce in the 50's and 60's but there would have been a LOT of shaming, especially from women. Divorce didn't really pick up till 70's and 80's. In fact the company Don works for probably would have shamed him or even fired him for divorcing.

Of course there's the angle of the women being the 'real' brains behind the operation. That was a bit annoying to watch.

I also think Don's excessive affairs were a bit over the top and not very realistic. Seemed like they were just trying to make men look bad. White men have pretty low rates of infidelity even today.

Nobody seems to go to church in the show either which wasn't very accurate.

Wasn't saying nigger considered uncouth (because of vulgarity, not racism) by most upper class people at the time? I remember reading it in some old book. Unless you meant negro.

I meant nigger, they do say Negro. Even so, there are at least a few situations and characters where it realistically would have come up. Maybe it's a matter of rating. It's TV-14, so no nudity and no f-words either.

Damn a well acclaimed TV show that doesn't have copious amounts of nudity, sex, and vulgar language. So quaint compared to the current media landscape. The rating is probably the reason yeah.

I always look for the Jewish angle in any apparently not-pozzed media. In this case I think it's the "Ad Men were White", "it wasn't Jews bullshitting you into smoking and taking Halcion, it was Whites". The rest of the show is pretty cool, to be honest.

One of my favorite shows ever so I am biased. It's definitely redpilled on certain things especially women/women's nature/women finding out you can't have it all (career and family and kids.)
