I don't think the BLM is really going far here because of lack of blacks in everyday life. The proper-black population is extremely tiny, we are speaking of something like 1%, maybe less. Most immigrants are from Marocco, Pakistan, Albania, China (a lot of Chinese people, but they kinda hide themselves). But in general, Italian racism is not a political topic.

Protests are way more about women and gay, and sexism and homophobia are quite big topics. That resulted in some kind of vandalism against the statue of Indro Montanelli. The guy was a soldier during the fascist colonialists and took a 13 years old wife from a local tribe in Ethiopia, so he was regarded as a rapist. But most of the left took the defence of him and the whole thing didn't fly.

In the future however, I can see this happening.

I saw lots of nignogs in Italy when I was visiting Padova. I always kinda assumed southern Italy was worse, but yeah, I definitely didn't expect there to be THAT MUCH black people.

I visited Rome in 2010. Before most of the chimps arrived.

I feel the same way about Ireland. I visited back in the early 2000s. Back then Dublin was still pretty much 100% white.
