Since we're going Bronze Age let's make a nice autistic example.

You are a sailor and you hear the singing of a siren, you are well aware of what a siren is. You call out and tell her you know she is a siren thus effectively neutralising her ability to sway you, she reveals her true form to you which is horrific. She asks you if you want to swim with her do you:

A) Jump in and swim with her (get eaten by the GOP)

B) Tell her to assume her prettier form (BAP version of the GOP, still get eaten)

C) Tell her no thank you, I know what you are.

Lesser evilism is choosing to be eaten by the siren just as long as she looks attractive to you.
