The 'left' doesn't meme to critique power (satirise) they meme to enforce power (snark).

The point isn't to be funny, the point is to punch down on anyone who opposes the dominant ideology, it's just the same as the betas who join in bullying a kid because they're scared of and want acceptance from the bully.

^ This was a comment of mine from a few years ago that people liked on the reddit sub and would copy paste a lot. In this specific case the person isn't just sucking up to power, they have access to it and are wielding it to attack those below them so with the bullying analogy they are the bully rather than the betas who join in, those are the regular NPCs.
