META: Regarding rule 4

Is this a saidit-wide rule or just for this sub? The reason I ask is that I was going to post a recording of José Antonio Primo de Rivera of the Spanish Falange speaking about capitalism & ask people’s thoughts on it, but after reading it seems this is expressly against rule 4, as is posting any video or article with the purpose of generating discussion without asking a specific question, if I’m interpreting things correctly?

Given this is already a fairly small place, is this rule really wise? I do appreciate that you probably don’t want the sub filled with low effort spam posts, but maybe you could generate more discussion without it? it’s just a thought. Thank you

Make the thread as a text post with the questions and stuff and it's fine. The rule is to stop people just posting links to random media or a text thread that is just the link with no discussion. As long as you actually have questions/discussion etc relevant to what you're linking it's fine.

Thanks for clearing that up Markimus and thank you s/literalotherkin . Tbh I’ll hold off posting for now, I’m sick in bed & feel like my IQ’s decreased by 40 points or so, which is why I wanted to lazily thieve José Antonio’s own hard work 😁 I’ll post it another time along with my own thoughts/questions.

Well said. Rule 4 is really important and prevents this sub from descending into a clickbait farm like the rest of Saidit.

This doesn't sound like an issue, I think that rule is more for dealing with low-effort clickbait articles that can't stimulate any meaningful discussion.
