I meant it was the first country to have a successful socialist revolution. It was the centre of the communist world for a long time. A lot of older people in Russia knew nothing else during their formative years, so it’s not surprising it still attracts a following.

I’m certainly not an expert but they just don’t strike me as a real threat, it’s not like the 19% has sprung out of nowhere, they’ve been swinging between 10% & 20% of the vote since the early 90’s. The Russian establishment seems to keep them on a tight leash.

Of course you’re right that things could always change for the worse with future generations but im not seeing any signs that it will go that way. We can only hope.
