Amen to all of that.

A key mistake a lot of normies make when talking about communism and liberalism is that they think that atheism is just a salient feature of these ideologies. They just happen to be atheist. In practice, the rejection of God lies at the very center of their beliefs. For only in a Godless society with no objective sense of reality and morality can their twisted ideology thrive.

I can't tell you how insane it used to drive me when I'd hear evangelical atheist darlings like Dawkins say that the atheistic aspect of regimes like the Bolsheviks was no more meaningful than the fact that Stalin had a moustache. What an utter cretin. Those regimes weren't just atheistic they were fanatically anti-theistic which is the most important part. Murderously, genocidally anti-theistic. From their own wicked perspective it's perfectly justified as well and you could say inevitable. Not only is the clergy and the Church a competitor for temporal power but theism is a total rejection of the metaphysics of left wing revolutionary thought.

Yup. I read Dawkins' book, the God Delusion and it was the most underwhelming piece of literature I had ever read. He is supposedly a world class evolutionary biologist and he could not find one positive benefit of religion. Not one!

His conclusion was that religion had no evolutionary benefits and its just a type of intellectual parastie that propagates from host to host. Religion, a thing found in every single civilization no matter how remote and even some species of animals has no evolutionary benefit.

When you read this, you understand that people like him are either willfullly ignorant or just malicious conmen.

Religion boosts fertility rates, increases altruism, happiness, willingness to sacrifice and die for the nation but in his hypsersonic head it has no benefit. Literally every historical philosopher and thinker noted how religiosity was the defining trait of a rising civilization while materialism and lack of faith was the key element of a declining one.

The French revolution specifically targeted the catholic clergy and the Bolshevik revolution targeted the orthodox clergy with mass murder. Right wingers for some reason fully ignore this ciritical fact.

I didn't know he'd said that but it doesn't surprise me. The second he steps outside of his scientific field he sounds like a first year undergraduate -- at least to my ears.

Out of interest what was it that changed your mind on this? I remember a while ago we were having a back and forth about religion and you seem to have done a 180.
