Tbf, that speech was quite the eyebrow-raiser. At one point, the guy blatantly said Japan should be nuked in revenge for the grudges China still carries.

China and Japan have been threatening eachother for decades. China knows that Japan is backed by the Nuclear US.

The only way China is going to take Taiwan is if the US tumbles out of favor as a world power and doesn't defend Chinese movements on it. That could happen for sure.

The real danger I see is if China moves on Taiwan and the US doesn't stop it nobody will and China will take it. When that happens the US dollar will no longer be the world reserve currency (because the US will look weak as fuck) and the western world will fall into a serious financial depression. Probably taking the whole world with it when it happens.
