I had the same sentiment when I worked my office job at a big tech company writing code. My colleagues were white men who did well in school, pay high taxes and dedicate their lives to building and maintaining a system that hates them. They finance every government program, they keep the company running even though the company is full of pride flags and Indian programmers. Engineers, coders, electricians, mechanics, dentists, teachers etc keep this society functioning. We have a society that can barely function and the people who the society hates the most are working hard to keep the power grid working. I couldn't motivate myself to work for a company that hates me and that is destructive.

Ed Dutton has talked about collapse caused by a lack of people capable of maintaining the system. I was capable of maintaining the system I just don't want to. Instead I do freelance web development instead.

Where do you do freelance web from? Are you still paying US income tax?

I find local businesses and do computer related jobs for them, mostly web dev but also other jobs. It was a bit tough to get started but one job leads to another and I am getting more and more systems to maintain which means that I have to do less selling.

Unfortunately I do still pay taxes.
