BV Larson is one of my favorite authors, he writes the Undying Mercenary and Space Force series among others.

Blood on the Stars by Jay Allan is another fantastic series.

And I'd also recommend the Wool omnibus by Hugh Howey.

I read a lot of military scifi (Wool is not btw, the other two are), and it's hard to remember everything. If these interest you I can dig up my Kindle history for other books and authors I particularly enjoyed.

And this is very un alt-right, but John Varley has a book called Steel Beach which is one of my favorite of all times. The characters live in an advanced society where, among other things, they really can switch genders, but it's not proselytizing any agenda. It also has a dinosaur farm.
