Disagree. This was a major long term optics win. The American empire looks demoralized, illegitimate and decrepit after this. The US has descended into banana republic territory and it is now clear for everyone to see. The capitol being breached like this is a DISASTER for the long term stability of the US empire. Yesterday's pictures will haunt the world and especially the American elites for generations to come, I don't know if you guys are grasping how unprecedented what happened actually is.

I kind of agree. The image of congress cowering under chairs while american citizens smile and take selfies in the same building is unrecoverable.

Finally an unarmed woman, a veteran no less, being intentionally shot and killed by capital security is devastating. The media is predictably ignoring reporting any details of her death, and wont even say her name. A search of ashli babbitt on cnns website turns up nothing.

But why did they let this happen if it wasnt to their advantage? They let the rioters walk right in.
