That's actually one of the best things about them.

So the fact that they fell into a Jewish trap and undermined their own effectiveness and trustworthiness is one of their best qualities?

That's false. The Wehrmacht - dominated by the Prussian aristocracy - was far more elitist.

the Wehrmacht may have been elitist in its upper levels, but they had reason to be, their leaders were extremely decorated and experienced veterans of combat and leadership, who were loyal to Germany as a whole.

By comparison, although they had VERY impressive aces and upstarts, especially in the field of armor, the SS was new and filled with lots of fresh troops. Not to mention their very wide roles, as they were used as bodyguards, police, and elite military units.

In my view, the SS got a lot of new things such as brand new tanks and equipment, diverting them from the Wehrmacht. Not only that, but they were more loyal to Hitler, or more accurately Himmler, than they were to Germany and Europe as a whole.
