A reversal of 1968 wouldn't be establishing a completely new world out look for the West.

To say "reversal" of 1789 isn't the best word because the goal isn't to go to pre-1789 but the French Revolution represented the beginning of a new stage for European Civilization and any new revolution in Europe should represent another new stage.

Well I said it is NOT about returning to pre-1789. The issue isn't that "progress" is bad but the way progress manifests itself today which is not progress but decay.

Yes, it was. Universalism and equality dogma was established with the enlightenment but obviously people were still racist and gender roles remained. However by the early 20th century it starts to change. Post WW2 makes race dening and globalism the status quo of the West -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Race_Question

The late 60's is when the boomer generation grows up and becomes counter cultural force to the lingering old conservative liberal values that remained.
