Nature/Nurture. Nurture I can see immediately for OP's stated reason, but I wouldn't be surprised to find untested gene combos have a higher rate of "failure" than the tried and true combos of Dawkins' "River Out of Eden" analogy, i.e. "races" are one branch of the river where all the gene combos are tried and tested. Mixing two long separate streams will produce "mutant" combos. Most mutants are NOT better, some are, but MOST are not.

You should probably read one of the basic books you're referring to.

Mutations are random or environmentally induced genetic changes.

Mutations are independent of ethnicity. They are not shared features of a community.

Mutations may occur in an individual, and in certain circumstances the mutation can be passed along to offspring.

This is very different from what you're suggesting in your argument.

I put mutant in quotes to say it was analogous. You're right, I don't have PROOF that "mutant" combinations of genes are usually deleterious, I'm making an analogous guess, but apparently there are numerous studies listed in this thread iirc that say just that.
