Some deals are worse than no deal.

the entire argument, neatly summed up. Everyone who goes deeper than this is being baited.

I don't see anything in the bill's brief that would help, as I've mentioned before. It even expressly wants money to build bridges to let the illegal immigrants in easier and safer. The bill is a joke and no one will fall for this trick. Pelosi overplayed the trick, like blocking critical Covid stimulus with checks and pretending it was her opponents.

    Asylees aren't illegal.

It looks really good to me. What's your problem with reducing migration to the US from the South?

i always understood that people could seek asylum in another country basically if their life was in danger, but now we have people seeking asylum in the United States because they cant find work in afghanistan or venezuela.

we aint the red cross and we aint the salvation army, but that is what we have turned into, the international salvation army for the world's jobless and homeless.

the result of this foolishness is that the united states economy will become devastated.

Which is why the backlog in the courts is a problem, and needs to be cleared. Asylees are legal. Economic immigrants have to get a greencard or work visa by the existing channels.

the result of this foolishness is that the united states economy will become devastated.

The main issue facing the economy is the international government debt. Which has started to erode the country's credit rating, because of the brinksmanship the republicans keep wanting to play.

To fix that you have to increase revenues, and pay it the fuck off.

The main issue facing the economy is the international government debt. To fix that you have to increase revenues, and pay it the fuck off.

and that debt is approximately $30,000,000,000,000.00(thirty trillion dollars), so actually that is something that actually can never be paid back.

this is a situation similar to if you were working at mcdonalds for minimum wage, but you own a debt of fifty million dollars... there is no way in hell that you can ever pay it back and the interest makes that amount get larger by the minute.

we dont need to import skilled workers, but instead we needed to employ our current citizens.

my prediction is that in a very few short years, the economy of the united states will be similar to indonesia or the phillipines where people are working for $100/week and eating rice for dinner.

we allowed arabs to come in and form a monopoly of our corner stores, and indians dominated our hotel/motel business and we have outsourced all customer service jobs to the phillipines.

so many people in the united states are now on welfare, which will come to an end eventually.

we(white folks) are fucked in a major way.

and that debt is approximately $30,000,000,000,000.00(thirty trillion dollars), so actually that is something that actually can never be paid back.

What's the largest amount of debt that can be paid off in a finite amount of time?

this is a situation similar to if you were working at mcdonalds for minimum wage, but you own a debt of fifty million dollars.

The debt is 122.9% of GDP. So that is only a fair analogy if minimum wage is 40.98 million dollars per year. For someone on the minimum of $7.80 who works 2080 hours per year, a similar situation would be if they own a debt of $18,500.

we dont need to import skilled workers, but instead we needed to employ our current citizens.

If you need skilled workers, your choices are:
    1) Don't have skilled workers, and let the jobs go to other countries.
    2) Produce sufficient skilled workers from your education system. Note that this has a 20 year lag.
    3) Import skilled workers. Not that this doesn't have a lag, and you don't have to pay the education costs.

What is the reasoning behind not doing (3), and only doing the resulting combination of (1) and (2)? That appears to be the worst economic outcome.

my prediction is that in a very few short years, the economy of the united states will be similar to indonesia or the phillipines where people are working for $100/week and eating rice for dinner.

A default will certainly be the end result of the brinksmanship, if there's not something done about using that as a political tool. And economic collapse will certainly be the result of a default. See Argentina for a historical example.

we allowed arabs to come in and form a monopoly of our corner stores

Corner stores aren't a monopoly. They're in competition from supermarkets.

and indians dominated our hotel/motel business

Perhaps a couple of generations ago. Now they dominate IT.

so many people in the united states are now on welfare, which will come to an end eventually.

Maybe not. Universal Basic Income is something economists debate.

we(white folks) are fucked in a major way.

    I've got a job.

a plan that does NOT secure the border but rather acts as assistance to the criminals crossing it

biden and his administration should all be charged with criminal negligence for the border situation and many other things

    .

    The proper charge is treason.

The political value is in the screaming. They don't want a fix. They want to scream.

You're claiming that the president can close a border with an executive action.

Which will face more legal challenges and issues with implementation than legislation, but it's technically possible.

Do you want him to halt land trade with Mexico too?

          Day one?

          January 20, 2021?

          So you're either talking about
Proclamation on Ending Discriminatory Bans on Entry to The United States
          or
Proclamation on the Termination Of Emergency With Respect To The Southern Border Of The United States And Redirection Of Funds Diverted To Border Wall Construction

What was the legislation Trump put in place to control the border that was cancelled by those?

          [–]P-38lightning 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

          Who said anything about legislation?

Spaghetti Brains opened the border with executive action. He can close it with executive action.

          He doesn't want to.

          We're done.

          [–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

          Who said anything about legislation?

Was everything Trump "put things in place to control the border" executive actions?

I mistakenly assumed he'd done some proper work.

... Okay then, what executive actions did Trump "put in place" that "controlled the border"?

Spaghetti Brains opened the border with executive action. He can close it with executive action.

He doesn't seem as spaghetti brained as you right now. You claimed there's this thing called "everything Trump put in place to control the border", and you don't seem to have any capacity to explain what it is.

He can close it with executive action.

So you don't know what he did. And but you know it overturned everything Trump put in place to control the border. Which, if I recall correctly, was talk up a shitty little wall, and then wonder which side of the river to put it on, then giving up after working out the cost. Then he build 15 miles of new primary barrier, did some maintenance on some existing barrier, and called it "big, beautiful wall".

          Waste of time and money.
