"Hoarding" is a loaded term that implies you are buying too much and being selfish if you prepare for uncertainty and stockpile food and other essentials. There's been an effort to disparage "doomsday preppers" and "paranoid conspiracy theorists" who have been warning for years about our fragile supply lines and the general unpreparedness of the average family. Each of us should be preparing to sustain ourselves and our families for a time when there isn't food on the shelves, and encouraging our friends to do the same.

They're against "hoarding" because they want you to die like flies when their famine comes. Starvation is the #1 way to kill huge numbers of people. You seal off an area and allow no food to enter. It's easy! It takes months to work but it does work very well. The Chinese and Soviet communists used this method and proved it worked. And they did that without a single computer, only paper and pencil.

Works really well for them in North Korea.

People who live in the countryside buy in bulk as standard because they never know when they might be prevented from getting into town by accidents or other problems. Most things they can't just nip round the corner for.

No one ever had a problem with that.

My wife insisted we build a stockpile about a year ago. Still stacking.

I started in earnest about 3 years ago. There were times when I thought I was overreacting but I am so grateful I took myself seriously now.

No, hoarding in the current fiat system we currently have, causes a crisis, but it isn't the lowly hoarders fault, it's the usury and billionaire hoarders.
