You know how when you make the argument to TRAs that kids are deciding to be trannies on a whim and have easy access to hormones and puberty blockers, they're like, "OMG u r so uninformed!!! It takes TONS of INTENSE psychiatric evaluation before u and ur doc know if ur ready to transition!!!!!1"?

Meanwhile some groomer shit like this thread is happening all the time. Kids being told they're right and the qualified specialists are wrong, and to keep shopping around until they find a gullible one, and groomers giving kids cheat sheets with a list of the "right" answers to give the therapist/psychiatrist/doctor, thus negating the whole point of evaluation.

The whole thing is so fucked.

Same. He seemed like he might actually be open to putting some though into whether he was actually trans in the original post, but those nutters in the comments are determined to not let that happen. Poor kid should stay away from reddit.

Nah the whole point of hum complaining to reddit about his therapist reveals that the "I have doubts about being trans" is just pointless speech on his end. He is mad that the therapist isn't removing those doubts because he knows he really wants to be trans but wants someone to lie to him and tell him everything will be fine if he transitions.

It's the nature of the issue. Kids for whatever reason fixate on gender transition as an escape from whatever real problems they have and the ones already down that route absolutely go after anyone who dates questions that route as it as they are deep into the sunk cost fallacy and can only keep those questions away themselves by going after anyone else who casts doubt on it.

Ultimately though if people transition when that isn't their actual problem in the first place, then their depression and other life issues haven't been dealt with and they'll eventually reach a point of even worse depression when they realize transition didn't work, can't distract themselves anymore from that reality, and also come to realize that they could never actually transition in the first place and kill themselves anyway.

Give the basic rule to anyone, if you have any sort of mental health issues or depression, worst thing you can do is go online for help, why would you want a bunch of other depressed crazy people giving you advice? They're like the last people you'd want to listen to.

It shits me that these people want less medical scrutiny for castration than what I had for laser eye surgery. Responsible medicine/psychiatry isn't about validation.

Also curious how thigh highs and skirts help one be 'more comfortable'. Not exactly leisure wear.

Not based, just doing their fucking job. It really shows how far everything is fallen where a sixteen year old boy wishing to permanently sterilise and chemically castrate himself is not hospitalised for psychiatric evaluation.

Also, parents keep your children off social media especially Reddit for boys and TikTok for girls, just block those sites on their devices.

Here's hoping the kid still doubts himself enough to keep going to the therapist. Even better if he brings the Reddit comments up. Let the therapist get between the patient and them and explain how everyone in this sub is someone who failed at therapy and settled for porn. Tell the kid to browse their reddit accounts and look for posts idealizing suicide or saying "it'll never be good enough". Let him build his own conclusions.

I'm dubious to anybody this young claiming they have multiple mental health issues and that the treatment should be gender reassignment. So many people mistaking everyday stress and fear for trauma, it's no wonder half the country is on some sort of medication. We've medicated ourselves to retarded.
