This is an iceberg.

First of all, a lot of it ties back to narcissism. These people absolutely crave attention - positive or negative - and will do anything to get it. Trans gets them attention. Claiming to have 18 self-diagnosed mental illnesses gets them attention. Acting like a lunatic and writing unreadable star-filled diatribes gets them attention.

Next, there is indeed a correlation between autism and trans. Likely because, well, autistic people tend to be socially isolated, unable to connect with other people, and most importantly, deeply unhappy with themselves and their bodies. In comes a socially contagious movement claiming that if you "just take these drugs and chop off some bits, you'll be your TrUe SeLf and happy all the time". And because of the autistic tendency to hyper-fixate, this becomes their be-all-end-all: personality, hobby, social circle, etc. It's a vicious cycle. Just replace "trans" with "heroin" and listen to them talk, and it becomes clear how similar it is to a drug addition.

Last at least for this post, well, they probably do have a couple serious mental illnesses. We live in a deeply disturbing society for numerous reasons and in numerous ways, and huge swaths of young people are depressed, anxious, and abusing non-drug things like drugs (video games, social media, etc.) for the dopamine hit. A few go off the deep end, and statistically speaking, that's a lot of people. But on another hand, well, if you're a healthy, happy, well-adjusted 20-something person, are you really going to go off a deep end and start fixating on taking hormones and chopping off bits? I mean, unless your friends all are (social contagion after all), probably not. And the silent majority of normal people who aren't terminally online just don't make the noise these crazies do.

The autism one feels like it has multiple parts to it too, like if you've put things in boxes of male/female and you like idk baking I can genuinely see some thinking, I like baking that's a female thing therefore I am a woman.

Personally I think it's the symptom rather than the cause for a lot of them, so depression/unhappiness presents as being uncomfortable with their body and they see that as a fix to their problems. Sorta like surgery addicts who just need to fix their nose and they'll be happy. And they are. For a week. Before something else needs surgery and then they'll be happy. Ofc they'll never actually be happy like that because the actual issue isn't that they hate a body part it's something in the mind that they need to fix. But that's not quick and easy.

The gender cult is the first to realize that autistic people are tutorial mode for cult membership.

  • They're so desperate for a sense of belonging and friendships so you can literally make them do anything you want as long as you pretend you'll be their friend. (In addition, because they're desperate, in all likeliness they have no one waiting for them to tell them otherwise, and they're more likely to say "you made it clear you wouldn't piss on me if I was on fire. These people care about me. Why should I turn my back on them for you? Truth be told, you should shake my hand- now I gave you a reason to hate me!"

  • They're incredibly trusting, meaning they have the two-pronged attack of "they'll never once consider that you have an ulterior motive with what you're trying to get them to do" and "you don't actually have to come through with what you promise them; they trust you'll give it to them so much and cannot possibly fathom you're lying to them that they'll wait forever if need be".

  • They're incredibly obsessive. They'll be the most fervent believers in the cult, the ones who would literally take a bullet for the cult, and the ones who'd give a bullet if it came down to it to get a tougher nut to crack than they were to join.

I'm just restating what you've said, but if you take someone who doesn't fit into the neurotypical social fabric and introduce them to a community where they explain all your sense of being out of place in the world via gender identity and then love-bomb you for joining them, it's basically the perfect trap for autistic people. And, as you say, there's the whole system of gender ideology into which to pour all your obsessive impulses.

Exactly- though even though we both agree here, I will say it's kind of weird that religion is lowering further and further, and autistic people aren't going into religion even though it traditionally did the same thing [explain why your sense of being out of place is due to their God's belief, love-bomb you until you join them, give them a system to pour their obsessive impulses into].

Maybe it's how religions treated people both post love-bomb [most only love you until you're a member and then forget about you] and how they feel about autistic people [feeling they're dullards who aren't worth helping at best, like they're wicked and need to be purged at worst], but it's a curious addition to this connection.

This hits the truth. There's a blog of someone writing about this that someone posted a while back about how they tend to be categorical thinkers, which I found insightful. Very useful as true believers of any kind.

I don't readily believe anybody who tells me they have mental disorder(s) anymore. First because these days it's trendy and people wear that shit like a badge of pride, plastering it all over their social media profiles. And second because we live in a culture now where doctors care less about the truth and more about affirming the patient's (or patient's parents') preconceived notions about themselves. People will literally go to multiple doctors until they find one that gives them the diagnosis they want, resulting in more and more doctors capitulating because they don't want to lose money.

I definitely view anyone broadcasting their mental illness to all with huge amounts of skepticism.

I have had a couple of friends tell me they're autistic in private before as an apology for being awkward or something, and I'm inclined to believe that since i suspected within about 5 seconds of talking with them.

I think for people who have spent any time around an autistic person, it becomes very obvious. It doesn't need to even be said. The autistic person might think so however because they can't understand why it's obvious, and go around and tell people about it when they first meet because someone told them it's a good idea and they're clueless socially beyond what people tell them.

Kinda plays into the trans stuff, since they can be easily influenced. Take a straight autistic guy that likes girls but is into weird anime shit, couple that with sexual frustration, then you'll have a bunch of people online telling them they're trans. They might be inclined to believe it.

Alternatively autistic people sometimes give the best most hilarious takedowns of this shit as well. Something about not understanding the social norms leads to some very unorthodox responses which is great. I always defend the autists when they are getting shit on for speaking facts because quite frankly it's an excellent socially acceptable excuse to other the trans-activist types. Oh I'm not friends with "zey zem" not because they are trans, but because they are mean to autistic people. Piece of shit. They attack you for talking shit about them, making them look more like shit, and boom, they're ostracized from everyone sometimes even the trans circle implodes because the performative assholes all have to get in their dig.

Cluster B personality disorders.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4301205/

These can often. Be mistaken for other mental problems.

They are usually due to childhood trauma and continued by bad behaviour and blaming everyone else for the consequences. The cure is to behave better and take responsibility. Obviously, blaming a self diagnosed disability for their bad habits is also popular with such types.

Having a mental disorder does not mean you are trans, but being trans means you have a mental disorder.

They have the same cause. Autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, OCD, and gender dysphoria are all linked.
