As a person who identifies as a New Zealand athlete even if I'm technically in America, this is a great victory for us all.

Now, considering that I am nominalgender as well, true inclusion means they must accommodate my identity as a New Zealand nominalgender athlete. As such, it is every non-elite events' duty to fly me in for a free vacation to New Zealand, where- as being nominalgender means it is impossible for anyone else to have the same gender as me, therefore means I automatically win any sporting event by virtue of being the only entrant- you put me on a podium, give me a medal, raise my hand, and say that I won something. Anything less than this is going against the spirit of inclusion and continuing to hinder the queer race and stopping the future of trans babies.

Those poor, poor trans babies.

Anyone want to get together and totally dominate the New Zealand elementary school golf circuit? It's a non-contact sport so we aren't actually at risk of hurting anyone. I guess swimming is another good one. I identify as someone who can win against 8 year olds.

I identify as someone who can win against 8 year olds.

Frankly, they deserve to be utterly destroyed in competition. They're cocky little shits and having their puffed up little egos put in check early will make their futures as empty, dreamless cubicle drones that much easier to fulfill.

Ooh, you have a point there. Why even bother playing the sport? You can just say "I identify as the first-place finisher in the contest", and they technically have to award you the win.

I identify as your divinely appointed dictator. Now get to work on my statue. Because if you don't validate my identity as your legitimate god-ruler, then I'll kill myself, and we wouldn't want that would we? For without your God how would the sun rise each morning?

Sorry, this trans person in my area already identified as the god who divinely appointed you, and I identified as outranking that God when they threw a tantrum I wouldn't give them a discount on their tendies because they were trans.

even if I'm technically in America

Don't worry, US Rowing have just decided to release their equally ridiculous new inclusion policy that lets anyone identify into the sex category of their choosing. Except in the mixed categories, where the split has to be 50/50 male/female. I'm sure that being the only category where men would actually be affected by this new policy (because let's be frank they have nothing to fear from some roided up women) is entirely coincidental

Excellent. My dreams of being a national champion rower in the nominalgender category are due to occur!

Where do these people imagine elite athletes come from?

Well, there's the problem- you seem to think that they care about sports.

They don't. They know full well that a MtF trans person entering women's sports will leave the opponents helpless against them, no different than if Mike Trout entered a T-ball game against 6 year olds (which this law going with self-ID only also makes completely legal). They expect that, and they gloat about "now we get to win!" and flat out say "you just don't want us to win!". Beyond gender identity, these are people hearing "big whoop. Big person you are. You only won by picking on people who couldn't possibly compete against you. I hope you're proud of yourself with that little 10 cent ribbon; you could have simply bought one and it'd be more of an achievement than this", and respond "you're right. I AM proud of myself. I won! I'm a winner, woo!"

It's so ironic that they claim the people are against it don't care about the sport too.

Hell I've been accused of it for being against it in a sport I used to play. Like I've been a young girl/women, I can think of a ton of reasons to exclude men from womens sports. I could see it at pubertyish just how just stronger man were and the difference it made. Half the boys didn't know their own strength and it'd be super easy to get injured. But no I don't care about sports at all and i'm a mean meanie wanting to exclude people...

Yeah. The worst part about this whole thing is this whole debate is the first battle that can literally only be won by the sane people stooping to their level. "Lia Thomas wants the right to swim in this women's competition? Absolutely. Oh look. Here's Michelle Phelps, the newest member of this competition. No, you're not queen of the trans people, you don't get to deny her gender identity, she self-IDed as non-binary so she has every right to compete against you. Enjoy the women's swim contest, Lia."

One, yes elite athletes come up through community sport. Two, regular exercise is sooo fucking good for your health, physical and mental. It's essentially prophylactic medicine. It's especially important for women in terms of the enormous rates (over 50%) of osteopenia and osteoporosis in post menopausal women of European and Asian ethnicity, ie most women in NZ. But sure, just take that away from significant numbers of enthusiastic amateur female athletes.

I'm lucky enough that my sporting hobbies are non contact and, at least currently, non competitive at my level. So I don't have to worry about self ID in sports on a personal level. But as a woman who came to sports and fitness near middle age, and get so, so fucking much from it. It's honestly something that makes every part of my life better, I'm so fucking furious at what is being taken from so many women now.

Well, when a millionaire loves his secretary very very much ...

The governing body when handing down the new guidelines said it's 'essential that community sport leaders are committed to 'inclusion'.

The decision by Sport New Zealand comes after Kiwi weightlifter Laurel Hubbard became the first transgender athlete to compete at Tokyo's Olympic Games last year.

As part of that SportNewZealand urges community sports groups to 'show that commitment by using preferred pronouns of transgender competitors and even appointing inclusion officers.

"Inclusion"Why is that always the buzzword with these people?I swear inclusiveness has become their religion.

[–]Haylstorm 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Not everyone needs to be included in everything ffs.

[–]ClassroomPast6178[S] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I think it depends. “Inclusion” used to be more “we’ll do our best to include you…but you’re not going to be able to go on the rollercoaster Professor Hawking, but we have other things for you to do” and it’s become “If Professor Hawking can’t go on the rollercoaster, no one should go on the rollercoaster!”.

[–]Haylstorm 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Indeed like my eyesight is bad so I shouldn't be a pilot. It's fair to exclude me from that haha. Same with other things. So long as you know I'm being treated as a person I don't exactly object to being excluded especially when there are valid reasons for it you know?

[–]LyingSpirit472 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's just unfair.

It's gone past that and gone screaming to "Professor Hawking doesn't even want to go on the rollercoaster? Then no one should go on the rollercoaster if it doesn't include Professor Hawking, even if there's nothing stopping him from doing so except his own not wanting to do it!"

Inclusiveness unless they disagree with you that is.

Ah, New Zealand! Where the globalists will move to when the shitholes they've created become too much to bear for them.
