This appears to be talking about the proportion lower income earners pay of the total tax collected.

It's unlcear from this whether they pay more tax per person. - if the state takes in less tax in total, it's possible that the lower earners still pay less tax in Texas, despite paying a higher percentage of the total amount collected.

It's always hot in summer, but this heat wave is going to be a doozy. Sunday is supposed to be 105 from what I just looked at. There's a heat advisory, this heat is potentially lethal. And at 105, any EVs parked in the sun are gonna exceed their battery's safe operating temperature of 160F. That seems like a bit of a problem.

[Houston] Man shot by dad after touching himself outside 10-year-old girl’s window now charged in the case... by [deleted] in Texas

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The parents caught a pedophile jacking off to their 10yo daughter through her window, they tried to make a citizen's arrest, the pedo took the mother's gun, and tried to shoot her, but the dad shot him first. He's now being charged with assault with a deadly weapon and indecency with a child by exposure.

Another article I found said he might have been drunk (go figure).

I love Texas. If this happened in a state like California: the parents wouldn't even try to arrest him, and if they did: they'd be the ones getting charged for owning a gun.

Texas Outages Put Reliability Of Renewable Energy In The Spotlight by coingirl in Texas

[–]tomatosplat 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The 'renewable resources' are less than half the problem.

Under governor "KING RICHARD" virtually all companies providing natural gas to new housing subdivisions had no checks or balances on delivery systems to subdivisions.

16 gw of failure is do to wind farms delivery, less than half of that is attributed to the windmill itself. Windmill energy is relatively new, and will fail, untill viscosity of lubrication is perfected. (Petroleum) this does not mean that this means should be abandoned.

Denmark has done the same thing, except that their mills are driven by sea currents. They have the same mills, but undersea. Theirs doesnt freeze, but if a turbine fails, it is extremely expensive.

I dont have an agenda, I'm just providing o formation.

16.2 gW ' have been lost because of wind.

31.2gW ' have been lost because of EPA regulations on coal or natural gas burning plants.

Edit" if you need sources: I will provide:means y p.oo u haven't been pay ok ng attention. And I'm sorry for you.

The Pflugerville Independent School District included new language in their contracts this year requiring that employees “will not boycott Israel during the term of the contract,” and will refrain from any action “that is intended to penalize, inflict economic harm on, or limit commercial relations with Israel, or with a person or entity doing business in Israeli or in an Israel-controlled territory.”

This is NOT the same as signing a pro-Israel oath. FAKE NEWS.

This is akin to a pharmacy employee being required to not refuse service to, say, someone wanting a morning-after pill because they're Christian, or a grocer being required to sell ham (that the store carries) despite them being Muslim.

It doesn't force action or allegiange to Israel. It simply forbids certain anti-Israel (BDS) behavior. BIG difference.

Yeah and then later officials played dumb like "oh how did that get in there, that was a mistake."

So in the moment after a hurricane when people are the most vulnerable, they're made to sign contracts pledging a lifetime of allegiance to Israel in order to get the support they need to survive. Extremely messed up.

Unbelievable. Apparently 26 US states have laws like this, most likely due to lobbying and pressure from AIPAC and associated groups. Also this passed completely unanimously, so it has 100% bi-partisan support. This is a clear signal of who really owns our government and law-making processes.
