I need to get a computer running Linux.

Try GNU/Linux Mint, it makes it easy to use. You can also run antiX from a USB stick, that way you don't have to worry about getting a new computer or accidentally overwriting your existing files.

No problem. On the website of antiX it says that they're "proudly anti-fascist" but don't let that deter you, it has zero impact on the software itself.

WHat if they don't ue any Microsoft services? Is there a domain you can block in your router so they can't see you?
