My wife is stereotypically Southern California blonde in appearance, a tech officer for her company, the worst person in the world to play any word game with (because she always wins), volunteers as a webmaster for several non profits, and is the only person in the world who can talk me into believing I’m wrong. She has said that when people underestimate her she uses it to her advantage. Every once and a while I challenge her in barrel racing or pole bending when I need a win.

I had so much hate for being ginger, lol.

And here "ah, she is just blonde woman" is very annoying stereotype too. I wonder how that stereotype is present in so many cultures? Especially considering that many women-scientists were blonde or had light brown hair color.

Am a brunette naturally but I've dyed my hair bleach blonde before, and the difference in treatment is huge. As a blonde I was told by men all the time that they "find brunettes more attractive" as if I care what they think of me based on my hair colour, or anything for that matter? I've had my blonde martial arts teacher call my mistakes a "blonde moment" in class, and call her own small absent minded mistakes the same. And she's a female martial arts instructor, you'd think maybe she wouldn't perpetrate negative stereotypes about women. Blonde was seen so negatively and even though my hair was clearly dyed, the whole blonde archetype was forced onto me anyway! I think only gingers have it worse when it comes to hair based judgement, and in my country gingers are quite common. When I got sick of dealing with roots every few weeks, I said fuck it and dyed my hair back to my natural shade. It's makes me way more inconspicuous and I think it's made people assume I'm smarter, as if my intelligence is determined by a bottle of hair dye. But that's just my two cents.

I'm blonde but also smarter than most people I meet so people will underestimate me at their own risk really.

agreed. we shouldn't judge women by their physical characteristics

The whole blonde=stupid thing started because some people believe that you can't be smart and attractive at the same time. My gf is blonde and she's litterally the smartest, most logical person I've ever met, I feel so dumb when I'm around her sometimes
