Women's IssuesLesbians/bisexual women of Saidit who were around during the Women's movement in or around the 1970's, I want to hear your stories!

As a younger lesbian, I don't remember a time when there was a real women's movement or women's music. I never went to Michfest or other women's events before the trans groups shut it down. I want to hear the stories (good and bad) from being LGB in the 1970's (or thereabouts), especially if you were involved in feminism (but also if you only saw the movement from the outside).

I was like, T minus 20-plus years from being a fetus in the 1970s.

It was a great time. I didn't know what Pride Month was, and was blissfully unaware of Jonathan Yaniv.

You know, I posted this and then realized that the 70's were like 40-50 years ago. So I'm looking for women who are in their 60's and 70's. And I'm looking for them on Saidit? Not exactly the best idea.

I think you may get more responses/stories on Ovarit. I’m a straight woman, but there seem to be more older women there than on here ... I may be wrong, though.🙂

Probably a lot fewer lesbian and bisexual women, though. And, some of the radical feminists who obsess over lesbians seem to believe in "political lesbianism," so there's that problem.
