I'm going to leave this up, but let me explain.

This wasn't an LGB spa/bath, and this clip and the issue isn't relevant to our sub. It's adjacent to what we're doing here, but it's not our cause. This is more appropriate for a sub like s/GenderCritical, it has already been shared there a few times, and I would encourage users to go share their support there.

This was a Korean spa with sex-exclusive spaces (which allow nudity) as well as co-ed (which do not). Unfortunately, the degenerate perv is safe under California discrimination laws, as "gender identity" is a protected class here. The business and it's employees could not do anything unless the man violated other laws, and this video isn't evidence of whether he did or didn't.

The woman being recorded tried to imply that the white knight (no pun intended) was gay as a rebuttal to him saying he wouldn't care if nude women were in the men's space. So whether or not we agree with her stance on sex-segregated spaces, we also have to acknowledge she used homophobia as a weapon.

Now THAT is a cause we need to address.

I didn't hear any homophobia. I just heard her make the correct argument that if he didn't like women he might not be so quick to say he would not have any problems with naked women in his lockerroom.

If you heard homophobia you are going to have to explain that one to me

It's also the case that there's simply an asymmetry between having a man exposing himself in the women's room and the reverse since, statistically, men represent a much greater threat to women and are far likelier to be exposing themselves for the purpose of deriving a perverse sexual thrill from it.

Admittedly, I was raised in the South where chivalry is still a thing.

It’s not chivalry to acknowledge that a man is more dangerous inside a female changing room than a woman is inside a male changing room. Men are more physically threatening, and a man is more likely to fuck you up than a woman. Now, a woman can still be a threat to the mean inside in a male changing room, especially if she’s physically strong or is carrying a weapon, and especially if she has a camera, but based on probability and the average strengths of both sexes, women are more vulnerable.

Yeah explain to me too. I'm non-American so I don't understand a lot of American nuances. What does she mean by "non-allignment". I dint get anything homophobic tbh

I think she meant "out of order" which is what she said quickly after that. Meaning he has no business telling women they aren't allowed to be upset for have a man in a womans space where they are all naked.

never heard that phrase i think she was just saying he's got his priorities all screwed up.

OUTSIDE WOMAN SPEAKING: If we went into the mens section with our anatomy, that would be ...
MAN: That is your anatomy, that doesn't offend me.
RECORDED WOMAN: Well it wouldn't probably, but you might not like women, so it might not, OK and we don't know ...

Homophobia can be subtle, it's not always people screaming slurs like "faggot" and "queer".

Why did a man who says he doesn't care about nude women get referred to as gay? Why was his sexual orientation even brought up?

[–]xanditAGAB (Assigned Gay at Birth) 8 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 0 fun9 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

I agree with homophobia being subtle sometimes, but I really think she was just saying he might be fine with women in the men's room because he is gay and therefore not interested in the female body? Also the asian guy brought up sexual orientation (incorrectly) and she said that had nothing to do with it. She makes a crack at the end about his manhood, but she seems to be the type that feels men should be confronting and dealing with "perverts" in the changing rooms.

Do you think he was defending men in women's private areas because he was gay? Do gay men do that?

[–]xanditAGAB (Assigned Gay at Birth) 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

this is about what she thinks, so i was framing it that way. He was defending a trans woman in the bathroom, because many sjw gay men do do that. He rushed over and his first thought was not the possibility that there was an actual man in there, who identified as a man, but that it was a trans woman and this black women needed to be "educated."

also, I'm not sure why you quoted me because you reversed the scenario with your question, so I just answered your scenario, of men in women's areas.

Why would you frame your thoughts around anyone else? We're done with that, aren't we? BE YOURSELF.

this is about what she thinks

No, it's not. This video is in THIS sub, so it's about what WE THINK. So be real to YOU.

We are here for LGB, not to represent women's rights and shit all over T and various men when a misstep is made. LGB is the focus here.

I'm not sure why you quoted me because you reversed the scenario with your question, so I just answered your scenario, of men in women's areas.

This isn't Reddit. I asked you, specifically, because I believe you will give real talk. Don't pander to me, I know you, shut up. Be real and talk for real.

You interpreted what she said as homophobic, I was trying to say it wasn't by explaining what I though she meant. I didn't see anything she said as homophobic. She said maybe you would not care if there is a woman in the mens room because your not interested in woman. That it wouldn't be a sexual situation. Are you saying its homophobic that she brought that up at all?

We are here for LGB, not to represent women's rights and shit all over T and various men when a misstep is made. LGB is the focus here.

I understand that, and why you would pull this video off, and also that you left it up to talk about what did apply to us, in your eyes, the homophobic part. I never wanted it to be GC 2.0 on reddit, or here. Anyway, I read somewhere there is a longer video of her saying it was a "cis" man in there, but I cant find it,and I don't use instagram. So it may not even be trans related. Do you see it as shitting on T? Theres a two year old review by another woman saying a guy was in there and she was fine with him being trans but she really felt he wasn't by his behavior and it creeped her out, so its happened there before. This is about no gatekeeping, self I.d., I say I'm a woman and I can enter any female space. The woman making the video, IMO doesn't realize loss of sex based rights also means dicks in the changing room, until it happened to her. That might just be me projecting though.

shit all over T and various men when a misstep is made

His first mistake was opening his mouth, it went downhill from there. But seriously, he is an sjw doing what they always do, come up and educate you about why you are wrong and a bigot as well. Not really a misstep.

Me: I'm not sure why you quoted me because you reversed the scenario with your question, so I just answered your scenario, of men in women's areas. You: This isn't Reddit. Your question confused me honesty, you quoted me talking about women in mens rooms but then YOU asked me about men in women's spaces. So I didn't know what you were asking me. As I responded before, yes, just like the libfem handmaidens, plenty of gay men (and women and bi's) are pushing the trans narrative hard, because they are lgbtqia+++ and think its their job as sjw's to protect the T. Like this shmuck https://twitter.com/Slatzism/status/1407365543309492232

Don't pander to me, I know you, shut up. Be real and talk for real.

What did i say was pandering? Btw you look lovely in that outfit. Anyway if I didn't answer your question, maybe rephrase it for me. I hope this thing is formatted right

I don't think that is where she disparages him. Its the part where she says he should act like a man, and frankly this here gay man was well and truly ecstatic that she went there. This absolute turd decided he would march over to these women and lecture them on how they should think and feel about the situation, and he was told in no uncertain terms to back to fuck off. He even had the nerve to question the woman speaking's gender, which is one the oldest racist things white men do to black women. No fuck him. I probably would've been more cutting then she was.

[–]NeedMoreCoffee~=[,,_,,]=^_^= 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

For one you don't know if she meant sexual orientation or "not like women" as in being not ok with them in his space like women dont like men in their space because no where did anyone say he was gay.

In fact i think he was straight and all the other women clocked him as just another straight guy mansplaining women why they arent allowed to be upset. Which is why she later said you are not a man. Not because she thought he was gay, but because hes an asshole defending perverts instead of upset women.

And second, in the heat of the moment there are not a lot of ways you think of to explain to a straight man who has no issues with naked women that there are men who are not so happy with having naked women in their space because he is too ignorant to understand what women go through because of men.

I did not sense homophobia here at all, just upset women.

I thought the woman was countering the argument of "I wouldn’t care if a woman came into our spa area" by saying "if you were gay, you might care!"

[–]JulienMayfair 15 insightful - 1 fun15 insightful - 0 fun16 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

It does affect all of us because of the perceived solidarity of LGB and T on issues like this by outsiders. As long as we are all perceived as "LGBTQ," the LGB are going to pay a price for the actions of the T and the policies that legalize this kind of invasion of women's spaces. That may very well result in an uptick in homophobia.

[–]NeedMoreCoffee~=[,,_,,]=^_^= 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So true.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I do *personally* understand that, and I do *personally* agree.

However, this sub needs to not only be for us, but also needs to represent LGB for the outsiders who don't know any better. Someone who knows absolutely nothing about what LGBDropTheT is or means or what's happening, a total newbie.

If they come into this sub and see this video as their very first understanding of us ... what does this video tell them about LGB and our needs?

If a disillusioned gay man or young adult finds his way here, how does he find solidarity with LGB and us by viewing this video?

[–]BEB 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Absolutely.

I honestly think that younger gays don't get how difficult and dangerous it was to be gay even a couple of decades ago and how every tiny bit of rights and acceptance was like trench warfare, advancing at a glacial pace, and how residual homophobia lurks just under the surface, of many men especially.

Now, the actions of the TQ+ are welded to LGB in the public mind, so TQ+ outrages could very easily cause a backlash that will erase the civil and human rights that gays fought for.

If everyone disagrees with you, maybe you should take a look at what you're saying and doing.
