Removing for rule 2.

This would be better suited for s/GenderCritical, s/GenderCriticalGuys, or s/ThereAreTwoGenders

Male body odor is repugnant to me. Like even if a dude has bathed and has on nice cologne, his natural scene will make me gag if he's too close to me. I let a male cousin live with me, when I had my own place, and his body odor lingered throughout the house. Told him to buy candles to mask the odor and also open the windows. He was a clean person. He just stunk like a skunk to me because he's a male.

I've never been repulsed by a female's body odor unless she was filthy or sickly (feverish). One of my best friends of 15 years has a stinky pussy... her pussy smells like a sick patient smells in a hospital. And she has the audacity to like me. 🤮

Oh yes, men and women have different natural scents, at least most of the time. I know this because I seem to be extra sensitive to them, and I HATE how men smell. And yes, I do like guys. I am aware it seems contradictory.

I don't know for sure but I believe human pheromones have been scientifically backed up somewhat. It makes sense that people can tell by scent, especially dogs.

Animals definitely have some way of telling, but I don't think it's always accurate. My cat is scared of men in general, but I have 1 male friend who she just loves and has never been scared of him. I have no idea if he smells different than other men and I have no intentions of smelling men for comparisons though.

Humans do not have phermones (like for example butterflies have), but smell certantly plays a part in attraction. The way our sweat smells is determene by our genes. You will like the smell of people with a different genome than yourself, and dislike the smell of people with a simular genome to yourself. This is a natural protection from genetic diseases and disabilities.

Do not take my word for this, but I belive that men and women smells differently because of differences on the sex-chromosomes.

I think dogs can tell because they have a great sense of smell, but I'm skeptical of humans being able to tell. I was going to say something about scented products, but after reading the comments, it actually looks like a lot of LGs can smell the difference between men and women. I guess I haven't really noticed because neither smell is repugnant to me.

This definitely isn't something I've noticed myself, but a lesbian friend of mine says she doesn't like 'the smell of men', and a separate female friend agreed that men 'smell different', so there might be something in it.

Absolutely. Women smell fucking horrible to me but the smell of male sweat just acts like a natural muscle relaxant. It doesn't matter if a woman is freshly showered (I've worked in the hospitality industry), there's still that certain sickly sweet reek that I have to hold my breath around.

I just want to add, I feel the same way about most scents marketed toward women. They just exacerbate the problem for me. I don't like male colognes either, but I find female perfumes worse.

It's a pretty common thing among dogs to react vastly differently with the two sexes, no? 🤔

But anyway, since their primary sense is smell and is what they use in priority to identify things, it wouldn't be very surprising the dog in question just didn't recognise his owner anymore. My dog hates when I put on perfume and refuses to come near me then lol

People absolutely have distinct smells. My partner has her own smell. She showers every morning but still has her own smell after a shower, and it certainly isn't BO or sweat or anything like that. It's her natural pheromone smell, mixed with a hint of her shampoo and her favorite tea. I find it a very attractive smell. I could only smell it after our first few times having sex. She says I have my own body scent too. Sometimes when she's working late I sleep on her side of the bed b/c her smell feels so comforting and safe.

My ex had her own smell too, and so my sisters and brothers and parents. The sisters smell way different than the brothers, and I believe it is a hormonal/pheremonal difference. In my experience you can pick up pheromone smells after spending a lot of time with people, or living with them.
