Now I've only watched a few videos so far, so if what I'm saying here is addressed in another, please let me know.
I've heard ContraPoints named before as one of the "reasonable" activists on YouTube, but I haven't watched any of their videos before today. And because they admit to being of the male sex, and that there are differences between transwomen and (in their words) "cis" women, I wouldn't have any problems with them.
Except, when doing so, they make the claim that "no transwoman thinks feminiinty and womanhood is the same". And "nobody** thinks that transwomen are identical to 'cis' women". Which is absolutely not what TRA claim online. And the transactivism movement certainly seeks to remove any legal difference between transwomen and women, while preventing you from stating otherwise. It's impossible for someone so invested in transgender research to not notice the biological sex deniers, so refusing to mention them feels dishonest.
They also paint "TERF"s as an organized group of haters that go on random newly transed people's profile just to "misgender" them or berate them. Without showing screenshots. It feels dishonest to make such a statement if they're not going to even mention they way lesbians are treated by transwomen & co. for not sucking dick. Of which there are many screenshots of.
Overall I actually kind of enjoy their videos, and I will watch a few more. I think it's important to get viewpoints of people other than those you already agree with. I assume the point of the channel is to explain the trans community and experience with reason, and I think they would do well at it if they were interested in showing why some homosexuals take aversion to the current state of the TRA movement.
There are other points they make that I take note of, like in how they often have to explain that transactivists make X argument when they really mean Y. It feels like they are making excuses for the community at times, as if a transactivist couldn't possibly supply a poor argument. They also claim that 0 people see them as their birth sex in the real world. This is something I see claimed by every single trans YouTuber, and they always seem to ignore that people know that misgendering is uncouth and impolite and have no desire to cause a conflict with a stranger, as I assume that explanation would be an insult to their ego.
