There used to be tons of chicks who looked exactly like this back in the 90's. It was just called androgynous back then.

Annie Lennox immediately comes to mind, as does Sinead O'Connor. The look is the same as it was, people of today are just being pretentious about it.

When I stumbled upon that sub, I cringed as I scrolled down. I don't care what y'all nor GCers say... people need to pick a proper lane and stay the fuck in it. "Feminine transmasc" is a damn oxymoron to me. Weirdos. I once saw a woman on Tumblr who was a Conchita Wurst fan. She had a thick black beard like him, no tits, identified as a feminine gay man. Why go through all of that to be feminine?

Feminine + transmasc AND non-binary.

Like............... I really want to know in her secret private mind, what in the actual fuck does she truly believe?

I just wanna pluck her out of her apartment and put her in the middle of a deep forest or on a deserted island or something, and just watch as this carefully constructed "superspecial" identity she's embraced as her own melts right off of her when she doesn't have access to makeup, H&M, and artificial hormones.

"There's such a HUGE overlap in the neurodivergent and trans (particularly enby, I feel like, though that part's anecdotal) communities."

They are getting close. They are spelling it out for everyone, but their brain is failing to put it together.

And that's if they're actually autistic. A ton of people think perfectly normal social awkwardness means they're autistic, and unless they get some kind of official diagnosis (I only got mine in adulthood, unfortunately), they'll go on thinking they're brainspecial and get free woke points.

I do, however, feel terrible for the population of actual autistic individuals who have been dragged into this whole mess (and I really do hate the doctors/teachers/guardians that encourage their autistic charges to transition. I personally had a hard time dealing with my gender nonconformity, as I'd often wear masculine clothing because they were generally less restrictive than female clothing. Had I grown up in this generation, I would have gone online and there's no doubt I'd convince myself that I was a transman, and once an autistic person has made their mind up about something, it's very difficult to change it.

Me too. And I feel this even in this sub, when people start relating autism to being TRA. Maybe someday some study will prove a link. But so far, just because TRAs say on social media they're autistic doesn't mean they really are.

I remeber picking up a book on autism and sexuality, which gave tips on what to do on dates and how to date if you're LGB and autistic (this was years ago), but even then they were implying that autistic people are more likely to be trans or gender non-conforming due to our lack of understanding or indifference to social gender roles and customs.

trans or gender non-conforming

These are two wildly different things though. And I'm not criticizing you, obviously, just criticizing the view you mentioned.

Yeah, the indifference towards social gender roles and customs could easily lead into expressing yourself in a way don't conform to society norms. But that is very different from actually identifying as TQ+. If anything, identifying as TQ+ is the opposite: you care so much about social gender roles and customs that you need to put yourself in a different label so that you're allowed to express yourself in another way.

I should've expressed myself a bit better. Autistic people are very likely to be gender non-conforming, but that can quickly develop into a belief that one is trans/non-binary as a result of over-obsession (or if it becomes a 'special interest') and/or outside pressure from peers, online communities and even some parents/teachers/psychologists (who are the worst of the lot because they don't have youthful inexperience to blame their misjudgement on).

My brain pulled a BSOD to prevent filesystem damage halfway through that mess of labels in the title but I got enough of it to know it must be fucking awful to be so completely bland that you have to resort to stacking 4+ labels on top of yourself to feel like you're interesting.
