Trans: LGB and straight people won’t sleep with us. Bigots!!

Also trans: Some people actually find us attractive and want to sleep with us. Creeps!

It's not validating me if it's someone who is specifically attracted to trans. I need to be desired by somebody who is exclusively attracted to the sex I was not assigned at birth. Anything less than that is LITERALLY TRANSPHOBIC VIOLENCE.

The number of people in the replies talking about how people who want trans people are fetishizing is unreal.

Wow. Golly, I can’t imagine at all what it’s like to be seen as a sex object with no feeling or boundaries who exists merely to validate others’ sexual fantasies.

Ha! Nailed it! Trans-stans: projection much?

The number of people in the replies talking about how people who want trans people are fetishizing is unreal.

Yeah, and again-- pot: meet kettle! The gender-fetishists (i.e., trans people) accusing OTHERS of fetishism for... fetishizing their fetishism? Holy hall-of-mirrors-hypocrisy, Batman! You practically need a flow chart to keep track of this crap.

But also: isn't it only to be expected that those who want trans people will fetishize them? Since, for the most part, wanting them is the RESULT of... a fetish?

And it sort of has to be, doesn't it? After all, "trans" is short for "transgender"... and NO sexual orientation is based on attraction to THAT. Bio-sex only, please! Gender just doesn't compute. Which largely rules out all those who might want them for non-fetishistic reasons (i.e., actual sexual attraction). Especially if they destroy their genitals: while some gay men, for example, might be into a "transwoman" as long as the baseline indicator of male sex (penis) is still there, when it's gone, so's the MINIMUM REQUIREMENT for any male-attracted person's interest. And since what they have as a "replacement" isn't the female equivalent (or genitalia at all, but rather some indefinable... thing that reeks of Uncanny Valley), it won't work for anyone attracted to WOMEN, either.

So who's left? Those attracted to something OTHER than biological sex. Like... gender. Meaning the entirely-artificial, culturally-determined/imposed SYMBOLS of maleness and (especially) femaleness. Such as high heels, or dresses, or long hair, or makeup, or bras. And whose sexuality is centered on THAT sort of thing?

Fetishists.

But they want people to be attracted to them based on their GENDER, after all! Absolutely DEMAND it, in fact! Forbid anyone to recognize their sex!

Well... THIS is what that looks like.

It's a type of escapism that allows the person to eschew personal responsibility and/or it's the result of being abused in youth by personality-ordered assholes who subordinated all of your needs to their own and treated you like an accessory or toy.

The number of times I've heard this argument pretty much exactly makes me think that trans persons are basically asexual. Or have the "I'm going to be attracted to people that are unavailable to me so I don't have to have a relationship with anyone" complex going on.

I think it's just narcissism. Let me tie my sense of cosmic justice to the most improbable set of outcomes so I always have a reason to rage.
