I'm honestly beginning to think that these medical corporations are downplaying the sometimes disastrous results that stem from the utilisation of these hormone blockers because people experiencing dysphoria will pay insane amounts to solve a problem that could be cheaply solved with actual therapy.

TRA's constantly bring up the argument: "oh transitioning is therapy, shut up!" No, it isn't. This 'therapy' they speak of is just filled with constant reminders that transitioning is available.

Hormone blockers are dangerous as fuck. People need to do research before going through the procedures that use them, because people's lives are being destroyed as a result of them.

From the perspective of speculators and investment, a therapeutic drug is far more valuable than a cure or talking to a therapist because they can't extract money from those solutions. Hormones and hormone blockers are the ultimate S+ type of medication for the Wall St side of the pharma industry. There is no research cost and they are cheap to make and the customers must take the drugs indefinitely to maintain the desired results.

The indicated use for Lupron is to be given as a single dose in an entire lifetime due to side effects but the gender clinics are prescribing it off label as a therapeutic type drug where the children take it for years. That's like a thousands or millions % increase in profit for a drug which is otherwise only given once in rare edge cases.

Therapy isn't cheap tho. $120 per session, 1 session per week for a year is $6240. I doubt a years supply of Lupron costs that much. On the other hand you don't have to pay for therapy for your whole life.

yeah but that money goes to a doctor and their staff instead of being filtered through some Wall St stock dividend.

I guess thats true, you can't patent and corporatize ppl talking to each other.

There is already proof of this happening. Lupron is a good example. Doctors get kickbacks and incentives for recommending "off-label" drugs.

It's technically a "therapy," but in the other sense of the word... So they're being willfully obtuse and deceitful when they say "it's a therapy"...

They aren't fully reversible. I've got a lot of studies showing it at least causes brain damage.

Also, if you take them for five years, you don't get those five year of puberty back. You get the last couple of years of puberty. So you won't be fertile, if you're a man your penis won't have grown.

And virtually every kid put onto them goes on to transition.

I'm watching the big organisations starting to drop a lot of the 'it's okay to transition kids' crap about now.

This. Though not the same (artificially induced with untested drugs is not comparable) puberty can be delayed or stopped entirely due to some intersex conditions. And let me tell you, NO healthcare service nor intersex person will tell you it's totally fine and dandy. Everyone will tell you the same - this is dangerous, your health is at risk, this is not supposed to happen. For those who don't go through puberty or have an incomplete puberty they're typically given HRT to try and minimize health problems. Yes that's right, some people genuinely need HRT for health reasons, yet we now have swarms of people taking it cosmetically and demanding that their usage is the most important.

It's not "forcing people into a gender box." That's what transgenderism is. Allowing people to have puberty, as is SUPPOSED to happen, is the opposite of detrimental.

[–]reluctant_commenter 9 insightful - 1 fun9 insightful - 0 fun10 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It sounds like you're pretty familiar with this process of genuine HRT. That sounds extremely frustrating, to watch people abuse these medications and try to sell them as something they're not.

I'm constantly reminded of how many separate groups are harmed by the whole transgender debacle. It's crazy the extent of the damage.

The drop in iq seems like a pretty big reason to not put your kid on it, you would think.

I cant wait for all the lawsuits that will happen in the next years

I'd like to see these people talk to any medical professional, as well as intersex people, about what happens in some intersex conditions where people don't go through puberty and how it can be damaging. I'd like to see them argue that it's totally safe, not a health risk, and "reversible." See how that goes.

But as usual TRAs pretend intersex conditions don't exist, or that they only exist when 1. It's a "hermaphrodite" fetish fantasy and 2. They can use it to "prove there is no sex/there are multiple genders" so I don't see this happening.

Lacking puberty is bad even when it happens "naturally" due to disorders of sexual development. When induced by artifical and largely untested drugs I can only imagine how more damage it could do.

These people will rail against big pharma and how evil they are until they pump out some study that says some 14 year old can go on hormone replacement therapy for the rest of their lives $$$$ then suddenly nobody cares about big pharma anymore.

That's because these people are useful idiots.

YEP. It's mind-blowing to me. Like, how on earth can you say you are against Big Pharma when you are in favor of this?? Does nobody care about being consistent? I guess that's how you figure out whether someone is holding these positions because they have real values, or not.

Democracy Now! and the other Pacifica (far Left US radio/TV stations) are a case in point.

They're all "Big BAD Pharma" until it comes to this issue. Why the sudden support by Far Left media for giving unnecessary drugs to kids?

Look at Democracy Now! funders. Shell foundations for Trans, Inc.

It should be called Hypocrisy Now!

The corrupting influence of Big Money. It's really sad to see DM go this way.

[–]BEB 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I used to be an avid watcher of Democracy Now! but then realized that, far from being the voice of the downtrodden, it seemed to have an agenda that often suspiciously aligned with corporate interests. This was way before I was aware of Trans, Inc., and before Democracy Now started having on trans activists like Strangio.

According to Pacifica insiders I've spoken with, Amy Goodman screwed Pacifica financially. I've heard Goodman referred to as a "bare-knuckled fighter"

So that drippy, overly-sincere, American Gothic persona Amy Goodman tries for onscreen, seems to be a front for a person who'll do anything to win, including, it seems, taking money to fuck up the lives of gay children by convincing them they're transgender.

And I know that gender critical women have approached Democracy Now and Pacifia about Trans, Inc. - but they don't seem to care. They apparently want the dollars from the trans lobby.

But again, look at the funding for NPR, for Democracy Now! and I'm guessing for Pacifica itself and you'll see why they're all trans activism talking points all the time.

Can someone please spell out for me how to link because NPR just did yet another piece touting the glories of trans activism and I'd like to link it?

And of course Stonewall are still supporting this vile organisation. Boycott Stonewall and any organisation that supports Mermaids. I wished that the British government would grow a collective spine and put all of these sickos in prison, but they're weak and indifferent. But there's still some hope. Ordinary British citizens, especially those who are homosexual or bisexual, can collectivise, get organised and force pressure on the British government and on these "charity" organisations so that Mermaids would cease to exist as an organisation and its leaders are put in jail.

Delaying puberty doesn't delay aging. That's where this practice fails.

Can someone explain to me what mermaids are in this context? I’m trying to google and i’m only getting the mythological creatures or just trans?

[–]Huffleterf 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It’s a charity in the UK for trans kids. They’re one of the worst for pushing junk science. https://twitter.com/Mermaids_Gender
