I've noticed it all over the place. And it's definitely a recent change; I was following GC ~3 years ago and it was never this omnipresent.

I honestly think it's fear-induced virtue signalling. Refrains that must be stated by those fearful of being labelled as "TERFs" if they are silent. I wouldn't doubt if "influencers"/influential people online are getting insidious comments and DMs demanding their support, or they're seeing the writing on the wall about how no one can remain "neutral" and are picking the side that they think either gives them, or takes away less, social capital.

Pretty typical social people stuff. The TRA lobby is powerful and nearly everywhere. And of course they're shoveling it into any media they can. This is just another tactic.

Anecdote: I was following a game streamer recently, and suddenly someone in chat said "superstraight rights". Despite the streamer not really following the chat, within a half second the user was banned and the streamer went on a 5-minute tangent about how "transphobic" it is and how "trans rights are human rights", all the usual thought-terminating cliches. It felt forced, not in a "gun-to-the-head" way, but a scared kid "say the line or the kids on the playground won't play with you" way. They could have silently banned the user and ignored it, which is standard "troll" containment 101 (SS stuff aside), but TRAs are a major force in the game streaming community; if the streamer had stayed silent, it would obviously have been taken as a silent admission of sympathy even with the banning. Hence, the cliches. I don't doubt this is happening every day to influencers big and small who cater to communities where the woke is in fashion, or where TRAs are a threat.

Yeah I think this may have happened with the podcast host I talked about because up until this point, she never talked about Trans stuff, at least in the livestreams anyway (I don't follow her social media) but she did mention that she's "gotten comments from Transwomen" on "asking" her to correct things when it came to the trans characters as well as refraining from using "women" and just using "Ciswomen" instead which is what she's doing now...

I believe this because there are so many Troons in the Gaming community, it's freaking scary and it's part of the reason why I'm a little hesitant to get into streaming myself. But yeah it sounds like what you observed was performative trans-signaling. Like maybe the person doesn't believe in it or doesn't care all that much but still felt the need to say something as to not get ambushed by the troon brigade.

This bothers me so much. I cannot be a part of any video games community without the trans, especially transwomen, constantly proclaiming they're trans.

Harvest Moon? TRANS RIGHTS! Stardew Valley? TRANS RIGHTS! World of Warcraft? TRANS RIGHTS!

It does not matter the game - trans nonsense all the time. I've stopped being a part of gaming communities altogether because of it. Especially women gamer groups, which have been massively taken over by transwomen.

I knew that Stardew Valley and World of Warcraft were breeding grounds for Trans crap but even Harvest Moon??? WTF? Then again, I saw this kinda bullshit seep into fandoms like Ratchet & Clank and Spyro the Dragon (two of my favorite franchises) so I can't be shocked about Harvest Moon lol.

I'm sorry that happened but I don't blame you, these people are annoyingly everywhere in the gamer community. I'm still somewhat active with gaming but I just try to avoid the trans stuff as much as I can.
