I feel like this is a good move but Im also worried about it splintering us even more. After reddit it sorta diverged to spinster, twitter, or here on saidit. I also like a place I can still access lbgdropthet and any of the dude voices who wouldnt be welcome on ovarit. Anyway didnt mean to be a downer Im still sad about the loss of our numbers on reddit and the other communities that didnt seem to make it.

We have Spinster for folks who like the more Twitter format, and Saidit was kind of a place for those of us who like link aggregator sites to land. Ovarit works in much the same way as Saidit and Reddit, BUT there are no ads, no porn, and it is created and run by radical feminists. We will be adding more communities in the future but right now we're just working on getting everyone on board the ship!

Thank you for your quick work on it! Eventually id love to make a femalefashion sub on there or here for anyone else so inclined. I miss talking about that stuff. 😫

I was hoping for the same when I migrated to SaidIt, but it seems like the majority of this platform is incelly racist men. A new feminist platform will be nice.

That's amazing! I can't believe how quickly this is happening.

May I have an invitation code? Thank you.

Splintering makes is harder to obliterate us. I think having a central Reddit location was wrong. It made it easy for them to take us down. If we are everywhere they can’t shut us up as easily.

I'm worried about lack of growth when it's invite-only. The good thing about GC on Reddit was that it was easy to find for anybody who'd peaked and just googled something related. Invite only is more work, more waiting and at least I would be a bit hesitant about it if I was new to the scene.

Yeah true. But as easy it was to find the community, it was that easy to destroy it. Kind of like killing the mother ship if everything else is a drone. In computers, robust systems use clones or nodes that have copies in different locations. Should something happen to one location, the others have a copy and it is easy to restore the other node. We need to be similar. Spread across different platforms. I mean if they want to get rid of us, we should make them work for it. We were just sitting ducks last time.

Is the invited only stage temporary? I thought so, I might be wrong

We will likely open registration without invite codes in the near future. Just trying to keep track of who is coming from where right now since we JUST launched.

The fact that an email is required might be a barrier for some who are privacy-minded. I created a new email to join but some might worry about even that, I’m thinking
