If anyone who supports JKR's work doesn't care about transphobia, then doesn't anyone who supports Radcliffe not care about racism and xenophobia?

When asked if he spent time with white supremacists to better understand his film Imperium, his response was: "No, but I know some really fucking racist people, friends I vehemently disagree with. It just so happens that my favorite white card from Cards Against Humanity is "Daniel Radcliffe's delicious asshole", because of a certain session I once had when the card came up.

I can't help but think of it every time his name comes up in this drama and it makes me smile every time. He's the butt of the joke once more.

It seems as if Matthew Lewis and Tom Felton are the only cast members who haven't turned their backs on JKR. Both of them retweeted the Wizarding World account a few weeks after she published the essay.

I hear the actress who played Luna lovegood got a crazy amount of Twitter flack for defending Rowling. She said something about how Rowling was always there for her and would talk to her on the phone when she was dealing with an eating disorder

I find it impossible to believe that any of these Harry Potter-associated people who've made statements actually care about trans people in any way. I'd disagree with them that what JK said was transphobic but I'd at least have a little respect if they were sincerely expressing their feelings or opinions. But I don't think they are or have given trans-related issues more than a passing thought. They just have everyone asking for a response from them and they don't want the backlash and cancel crowd coming after them so they say what the angry mob wants to hear.
