humans share 99% of their DNA with chimps, so how can there be "human" & "chimp"?

this reminds me of climate change deniers who argue "how can 2% of carbon in the atmosphere have any substantial effect on climate?" – this line of argument posits that a small amount of something can only have a small effect.

6 minutes isn't a very long time, but 6 minutes without oxygen can cause brain damage or can even be fatal (at least in the majority of cases).

99%

Oh, I have a good one.

Let poster's own logic bite them back: by poster logic it will mean that if there only 0.3% of transgender people - and 99.7% are not, then transgender people do not exist! :D

Not to mention something like 2% only seems small because of how people are accustomed to reading percentages. That's one of the problems with using a 0-100 scale for everything, its not very intuitive for those who aren't familiar with the context.
