Check out Metropolis. It is easily one of the best animes you will watch.

Blame is just okay. It’s fun but you won’t watch it twice.

The 3d animation is trash. Apple seed is like ghost in a shell knock off.

Ah yeah I forgot about Paprika that's a good one. Didn't care for the 3d animation in Appleseed but the story was ok. I'll have to check out Metropolis and Blame.

I had the CD. Great concept. Shitty songs. Fanfuckingtastic sound design in the interludes and for the opening of a couple songs - but the singing ruins them.

Here's the album playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6vwnon3sINoO8FIFVPgQWyDIe8VhDlyW

I'll definitely be doing something with Interlude 3 for LeverMind.

There were a couple okay songs but there were no good or great songs on the album. However, all of the short little tracks between songs were fucking brilliant, and some of the songs had great intros and outros. The psychedelic creativiity and production value are A+++. But that's just not enough for an album or a hit song.

What this short summary video misses is that Billy Idol used to hate all things geekery. At some point (I forget the details) and he got turned on to technology. Unfortunately there was no soul in this masturbatory album, aside from the obvious fascination with the new digital tools and all the fun sounds they could produce.

In addition to being hyped by the record label, Wired Magazine and Mondo 2000 Magazine were new and hyping it, as in those days geekery was in short supply and they were trying to make Zippies the new techno-hippie, reviving other careers like Timothy Leary.

Ultimately Idol would have been wise to tap into the growing rave scene of the time and embraced what was simply know then as "dance music" or "house music" at best - before all the EDM genres branched off.

I used some of the short little tracks in my Hysterical Virile Panda-Mix playlist last month. Especially appropriate while still in the cypberpunk vein was the "injection" one called Interlude 3.

Biohackers With Diabetes Are Making Their Own Insulin by BillionDollarEgg3 in Cyberpunk

It's a horrible shame that Big Pharma has their hooks in both parties, the members of which really don't give a shit about their constituents, except at election time. We need to make this at home, as needed. To do so a specialized kit would have to be made and preferably automate the process. It'll pay for itself in a year or so. Processing yeast isn't illegal.

In 1923, Frederick Banting, Charles Best, and James Collip sold the patent for insulin to the University of Toronto for $1 each because they believed such an essential medicine should be available to everyone who needed it.

The original patents for the insulin molecule have long since expired, but patents on parts of the production process — a strategy that has been famously used (and arguably abused) by drug companies — remain because pharmaceutical companies keep tweaking how they make it. Most insulins sold today are synthetic analogs that have been adjusted to last longer or act faster, which is one reason pharmaceutical companies give for why the cost of insulin has skyrocketed. These changes have prevented generic drug manufacturers from entering the market.

CyberPunk 2077 Bar - Hard Synthwave / CyberSynth / DarkSynth / Synthwave Metal ~ Fourat Xu, 2018-12-29 by JasonCarswell in Cyberpunk

As I entered the bar, an attack of neon strobe lights assaulted my eyes. Smugglers, criminals, androids, and people from all Reaches of this system came here to the Nova club to watch the dancers. I sat at one of the tables closet to stage. Enjoying the show, I looked around to see who else was having the time of their life. I saw a woman with hair as crazy and as colorful as the city skyline. Tattoos of neon design ran up and down her arms. I saw to my left and man with a synthetic arm and piercings all over his face nodding his head to the club music while tinkering with his robotic limb. The music died down and things got quiet. I became confused wondering what happens next. The song resumed, as the beat dropped, the ceiling opened up and dancers floated down swinging on levitating poles flaying their colorful ribbons while descending to the stage. The club went into an uproar of satisfaction and entertained screaming. I soon found myself doing the same and I became part of the clubbing experience. This was the feeling of the century.
