You might just be horny bro

EDIT: but on a more serious note, men are taught that taking care of themselves and caring about their appearance too much is gay. Women on the other hand are obsessive and competitive about it, so of course they are more put together and more dolled up with makeup / styles / whatever than men are. That being said, there are plenty of attractive guys in college. A lot of them just don't flaunt it like women do, unless they're into sports and they have an "excuse" to be vain in public.

It's not a taught behaviour, it's human nature. Men just don't care as much about grooming as women do.

That is certainly changing, and I don't mean in a soy way. Men are opening up to thinks like lotion, grooming has become popular especially with the explosion of beards, a lot of men men are also starting to wear a little more jewelry than we did in the past, maybe multiple rings, necklaces, bands, earings, etc.

a woman told me she always looks at a man's hands first and likes when they have bracelets or rings on. I decided I don't like that but I got into wearing nice watches.

I've known a few effeminate dressing straight guys that are basically always getting girls. Like it's an effective strategy I guess. Basically stereotypical well groomed homosexuals except they aren't gay. Weird fashion painted nails hair styles all that shit.

Can't deny the results though the type that goes for it isn't exactly mine. Girls be a bit crazy I think.

I specifically said non-soy. Men men wear accessories now and try to keep their faces from drying up like the sahara. Yeah, the metro guys might wear a bunch of effeminate stuff, but those guys have never been MEN, just male.

we need to stand out in some way, it's like the peacock effect in nature.

The real question is why you think "looking like a construction worker" is a bad thing. You think women don't like men who look rugged, strong, and used to stay outside?

Lmfao! Suuuure they don't. And men hate boobs.

    [–]TheStandingResident 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Probably because construction workers are considered low class, which ugly people are more likely are if they don't have inheritance.

    [–]Alienhunter 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I think they like the idea of it right until it hits the reality of it. Try taking a girl on holiday to the Mongolian steppe and watch her disappointment with how bad you smell after a week of no showers and shitting in holes you dug yourself.

    [–]QueenBread 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Well normally people take a shower after work. You confuse "being repulsed by poor hygiene" with "not liking people who do manual labor".

    [–]Alienhunter 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Showers are an antisemitic legacy of the patriarchy though.

You put 100 men and 1 woman in an island and return 1 year later and the population will have increased by one.

You put 100 women and 1 man in an island and return 1 year later and the population will have increased by 100.

The 1 woman on 1st island will try to pick the best man out of the 100 in order to mate, that way her 1 child will have the best genetics possible.

The 1 man on on the 2nd island doesn't care at all about how good his partner looks. He can impregnate multiple women, hence he'll breed everyone and spread his genes as much as he can.

Males have evolved to be mostly indiscriminate in their mate selection because, in most species, most of the biological investment in generating offspring comes from the female side. Therefore, for a man, any woman who might want to mate with him is potentially interesting, hence men find most women to be sufficiently attractive. Women, on the other hand, have evolved to be exceptionally picky on their choices of mates due to the fact they almost never experience scarcity of prospective partners, due to the inherent bias towards males being far more interested in them than the other way around.

I'd probably be an asshole too if I looked like Andrew Tate.

Lol what? He literally look like a wojak.

5% of men are attractive. 50% of women are attractive (50% are fat)

    [–]brimshae 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

men who look like construction workers

Rugged guys who work outside in jobs that require strength and endurance?

    [–]LarrySwinger2 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Women spend much more time and money on their appearance than men do, that's also a factor.

    [–]jet199 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Because women are attracted to ugly men when they are fertile.

Only girls and grannies like pretty boys.

    [–]Clown_Chan 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I dunno, I like pretty men and I'm neither young girl or granny.

    [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

    This isnt the case.

Men are generally attracted to all women in order to reproduce.

Women's attracting is dramatically toned down to ensure provisioning.

It is not that men are not attractive, it is not that women are attractive.

Its that men are pumped full sex hormones making them fuck everything. And women are not.

    Men find trees attractive.

High quality makeup and YouTube are far more accessible now. My wife is big into fashion and can 100% look like a celeb when she wants to. She learned it all from watching videos of pros like Scott Barns. (A makeup artist for celebs like Jennifer Lopez) At 42 she routinely gets ID at liquor stores and even in Vegas.

Also, youth is a big factor with attractiveness for females. If you are 25 and under and have a reasonable weight most men will find a girl like that physically attritive. Over 25 -30 things can tank pretty quick. I've met 3 "hotties" from my old high school throughout the years and man, it's pretty sad...time has not been kind.

The opposite goes for men. When I was in my late teens I was awkward and scrawny but the older I get the better I look. I've put on much more muscle and have some gray going which I'm told makes me look very distinguished and mature. Both things women find very attractive. Also I'm pretty fit which is a huge factor for men especially as we age. Even just maintaining a healthy weight is big with women as most men are now overweight. (Double so for men over 30. The beer gut is not a good look.)

Overall I think men have it better then women. Women have a timer. The older they get the harder it gets. There are attractive women over 25 but there prospects shrink every year as more and more men are taken and all that's left are the rejects. Men are the opposite. We are worthless when we are young and get better as we age. There is always a new generation of women coming up for older men to court. Also young women tend to be naïve and fall for older males and their bullshit, thinking they are going to find someone to care for them when in fact all these guys want is a good lay and then move onto the next younger thing. Think Leonardo Dicaprio, once you're 30 dump'em and move on down the line.

When I was in college I wondered why most women were ugly.

    [–]topiary2 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You must be delusional. Who the hell finds attractive women in colleges?

I am in school and you find mostly pie faces.

It sounds like you are projecting.

Honestly, it reads more like you've been given absolutely no instructions regarding women whatsoever, but that you're venting your frustration so publicly is unsettling.

I suggest that you consider investing into a reliable ready reference you can pick up and study to better prepare yourself for engaging the opposite sex. I suggest that you get yourself a copy of Doc Love's "The System: The Dating Dictionary".

Doc Love, who until his passing was also known as Tom Hodges, wrote a weekly advice column that's archive is mirrored on several mens focused sites and a podcast. His media is a bit pricey, but it's a solid foundation a guy can branch out from in RP aware circles. I'd suggest you review his advice column to decide if his view on dating and relationships is aligned with what you aspire for yourself. To save yourself a search, give this scribed link a gander to find out if his book is something you'd like to add to your library.

Because you're at college. In the real world, the average female BMI is almost 30. That's the threshold to obese.
