Something they fail to mention is that genital response to the erotic stimuli they offered (pornographic videos) does not necessarily have to directly correlate with a person's sexual feelings.

This isn't surprising, sometimes your just not in the mood, or for some people porn doesn't do it for them, or the porn used in the study isn't good. These studies need better instruments of measuring attraction.
