Holy hell that tweet is somehow even more loaded than the whole "2 + 2 = 5 sometimes" thing.

Like the 2 + 2 = 5 thing has a "nugget" of truth to the deeper layers but like many shit takes on the internet it pretty much just goes off a very surface level interpretation and runs the hell with it. Short version of that shit take is more when it comes to floating point AND complex systems that change overtime I.E 2 people can become 3 people after mating so "1 + 1 -> 3" but many replace the -> with = which is a COLLASAL difference.

Actually that right there is the perfect example of much of this of reading a surface layer of a complex subject, making a small but vital mistake, and then just running with it as some bastion of truth and hoping that many won't be able to rush to properly correct and conversation around it will get flooded by shit takes.

The actual lesbians appear to have left the building. And who can blame them? by [deleted] in GenderCritical

Short story: sadly unlikely as one of the major roadblocks with something like this is upfront cost to by pass the empty bar/restaurant effect in which no one wants to be the only user on a dating app. This is only the iceberg to the mess that is how dating services essentially "have to" run.

How Tinder/OkCupid/etc mostly got past this is taking on a ton of debt/money to throw sizable free events in major cities in which the only thing needed to go is that you signed up for the service. They essentially blew near millions on getting people to install the app in exchange for free events so then there are actual users and then word of mouth and so on spreads and the app "isn't dead". Otherwise you would get it launches, someone signs on with almost no one active in their area, gives up and moves on and the cycle repeats over and over.

The other model to avoid this is to take some hard stances and then keep chasing news outlets hyping it up but often to a point of ruining the service itself like HER and how easily it caved to TRA and libfems to chase woke points and generate downloads while throwing it core demographic under the bus.

What happened to #Mybodymychoice and #Metoo? Does it NOT apply to lesbians? by LesbiSilly in GenderCritical

Because the sad thing is that #MeToo QUICKLY got overran with essentially being a political and business tool against other people and ultimately still failed because it ultimately depending on others to validate these issues. Pretty much any woman who tries to #MeToo a TiM or non-binary man instantly get shuts down as being trans/homophobic. The second #MeToo starts to become actually quite hard to wrestle with who is involved for the public, people drop their support for it and go back to "simply ignoring".

Heck even with the various companies and orgs that went on saying they are "fully #MeToo" pretty much only take a reactionary stance to it on waiting for it to be a large public statement rather than actually working on their internal environments.

So it appears there are people on twitter who think biology is a white colonial notion imposed upon the rest of the world to make us believe in the "European" notion of male and female. We were all stupid and ignorant before whitey came along. A thread. by Susiesmum in GenderCritical

Not "hard disagreeing" but I feel there is a huge part of a lot of these people seeing like the first chapter on critiques/history of scientific institutions, their structures, focus and framing, and how racist and sexist parts of it can come up and then just run with the absolute worse way of going about it.

The "biology is sexist" is part maddening because it is missing the key "the research of/in biology" before the is sexist part which is key. I.E in the field of medicine a lot of medicine even to this day pretty much just treats women as "men who weigh less" and this has even been seen for medicine that is MEANT for women. The cold hard biology isn't sexist, the biological institutions that create gaps in knowledge and medicine is sexist.

The actual topics of discussions for a lot of these points is very deep and murky but a ton of these people take the surface layer of it, summarize it in an awful way and summarize it with terrible shit takes. Science as a concept isn't sexist, the history of science for sure has various sexist parts that effect to this day, those are VERY different things.

So many viagra adverts. So many damn viagra adverts. [Rant] by BraveAndStunningTERF in GenderCritical

To be "devil's advocate" on why so many more of those commercials than tampons is that viagra is the brand name so other companies coming into that space pretty much will have to go all in on advertising to try and undo decades of brand name being used so common place to even stand a chance. Tampons have had similar times where new brands and such enter and going full blitz advertising and even with that there isn't the uphill battle of a default brand name used for tampons.

Yeah this is something that I think libfems are going to potentially continue to make politics worse if they label anyone with even the slightest different take on these issues as "right-wing" and won't bother to listen.

I mean really ... J.K Rowling as some "hard right-wing" despite donating a ton of her wealth to fairly liberal organizations and is mostly on liberal sides of issues but one slip on this and "NOPE SHE IS HARD RIGHT WING NOW". I feel in this video Lindsey is doing a bunch of leaps in attempts to prove she is still "a solid liberal girl" instead of taking the issue head on and completely ignoring some of the core of J.K Rowling's tweets.
