I fucking hate non binary as a designation for masculine lesbians. by [deleted] in Lesbians

It really does seem to be like a cult.

It's a huge step backward after all these years of people finally realising that there's more than one way to present yourself as a woman. Sure, there's still some way to go to break the patriarchal views that expect some women to be oppressed, stuck in the kitchen or looking after kids - if that's your life and you are happy, then please continue. But the other extreme is this... where you've enjoyed the freedoms that women's lib brought about, to dress as you like, enjoy the hobbies they told you were for men, pursue a career that was not traditionally recognised as "womens work", to turn your back on all the things society expects of you as a woman... and then they turn their back on womanhood altogether.

It simply acts to say "this isn't being a woman after all, it's being a man".

I'm not femme but I've had a few experiences of butch women trying to femme me up, in some kind of fucked up of way to amplify their masculinity, which was really fucking weird. Makes me twitchy now when I get a sense of that dynamic in a partner.

Its a disservice to other women and I personally would not be able to continue a relationship with someone with such a mindset, to me it signifies other issues that can't really be worked through.

So sick of these straight/bi women suddenly realizing they are lesbians conveniently after their male partner decides he's a woman... by [deleted] in LGBDropTheT

This is it, spot on.

If I was with someone who pulled this stunt, it would be a swift goodbye, never mind them dictating MY new identity to me based on their cosplay fantasy.

I can't really understand the mental gymnastics required to stay with a person and then "come out" as something that, up until Saturday night, you lived your life to the contrary.

"It began with a campaign by transgender activists to compel celebrities to put their ‘preferred pronouns’ in their Twitter bios – as way of normalising this practice by trans-identified and non-binary people"

It seems to be a common way for them to get the trans idealogy mainstream, if everyone on Twitter is using pronohns then less people will stop to question those appropriating whatever identity they think they can hijack.

Similar to when TRAs put pressure on companies to denounce alleged TERFs or to declare themselves pro-trans.

Trans supporter says that sexualizing children isn't wrong because the idea of "children", like gender, is a social construct. Clown world. by peaked2020 in LGBDropTheT

I can only think of 'aspic' which is a sort of meat dish inside a gravy like jelly, sort of like the stuff in a scotch egg.

Which in comparison, makes more sense than 'he/him lesbian' 🤣

Yes lol I've always wondered if there's any attempt to push the TWAW bullshit at het men? My guess is that they have been more succesful targeting lesbians since they're more comfortable in a world telling women what to do as usual.

Deleted the app earlier cos I just cant digest any more of the shit on there. I do think that the representation of them online makes it appear they are much larger in numbers than in society as a whole.

Its worrying for teenagers who are trying to figure out their sexuality and identity, going onto Reddit looking for advice and support only to be told "Yes youre definitely trans" or "Youre a lesbian and that means you like ALL women, even the male ones uwu"

Jesus. I thought I had heard it all.

Complete fantasists. They live in a "yes" world with ever decreasing barriers to their obsession, Drs say yes to medication and surgery, their echo chamber of constant validation, LGB people fooled by the smokescreen and fear of being labelled a bigot...

But they cannot fool themselves and feel left out by actual menstruators.

Solution: put fake blood on a pad.

Wtf.

If you've just recently accepted your sexuality, please don't feel like going into another closet thinking that theres something unacceptable about rejecting penis.

I really worry for young adults and those coming to terms with being lesbian, when theres a huge online presence of people trying to normalize the concept of lesbians liking penis. Its obviously in their interests to have this accepted as fact, despite being rooted in homophobia.

Finally, I wanted to say that over time you will become more comfortable describing yourself as a lesbian. There's been many people who have struggled with the negative connotations due to homophobia and the shitty world we live in.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of frauds hijacking the label and changing the definition on a daily basis without ever having to walk a mile in our shoes.

You belong here, don't be alone.

I watched this yesterday and a common thing I've noticed with many detrans people, is their criticism for not having had enough psychological evaluation or the therapy has been short and more of a focus given to getting them set up on medication.

Anecdotal evidence via former clinical staff based at The Tavistock Centre also suggested that there was insufficient counselling given to young people who were referred there. Former patients of the clinic who have since detransitioned all seem to feel like they were failed by the Drs and the GIDS service that were supposed to help them explore their choices, instead of defaulting to puberty blockers.

Im also attempying to find data on those claiming to be trans whilst also presenting with some kind of autism. Im sure Ive read somewhere theres a high correlation with the two.

After the recent banwave there was the predictable flood of validation posts and I made my way over here to pick up on my favourite banned subs. AL seemed to calm down a bit and over the past week or so, Ive definitely noticed a lot more people speaking out against the usual trans-centred lesbian-erasing content.

It was encouraging to see, especially since the comments remained - even the ones calling out and challenging the self centred blinkered trans views.

Ive definitely noticed a shift over there. Maybe before we mostly scrolled past and sighed, exhausted at trying to debate with the delusional.

It's only a matter of time before they start banning people since we all know there's no such thing as free speech on reddit anymore.

Seems I woke up this morning and have travelled back in time.

Why dont they just build us a menstruating hut in the field for us to go hide in?

Yet again, men telling women to shut up about our bodies because, as we all know, our bodies only exist as a vessel for male pleasure.

Getting really sick of this shit.

How disappointing. It's a shame that the only possible storyline for GNC character is that they eventually come out as trans. It sends out the message that this is the path to being trans, not that they can simply be who they are without the need to adhere to the archaic definition of what a woman or man is.

The Max/Jenny storyline in The L Word was a complete cringefest.

Im peaking NB over this shit today.

Its such an old fashioned and absolute way of thinking. They think it's progressive and, like others have commented, "not like other girls". All it does is reinforce the bullshit gender expectations we are trying to get away from.

They could have been like the rest of us and lived their life as an example of women not giving a fuck and doing and dressing however they like, stepping away from the age old depiction of who and what a woman should be... but no.

They are special want us all to know it.

Oh god. This. I replied to the word salad they wrote asking them to clarify their use of the word 'womxn'.

And I get that in some circles, the word has been used in retaliation of it being adapted from the word 'men', but in this NB bullshit, it seems that we generally feel the same:

Whats so wrong with being a woman? The fact they cant see this as misogyny and trying to distance themselves from the rest of us is staggering.

I'd take a guess that its a label more commonly used by younger lesbians, who have yet to figure their shit out and realise that you don't have to fit this fucking 1950s vision of what a woman is.

The more these contradictory bullshit labels come up, the less any of them mean.

Ever noticed that lesbians have the least spaces out of the LGBT community? by RedditHatesLesbians in Lesbians

That's why I think it's so important for places like this to exist.

We are already 'invisible' in many respects so it's sadly not surprising that our online spaces end up shared or hijacked by other groups.

The latest banwave only serves to reinforce this, that the moment we attempt to create a space just for us, our refusal to share is interpreted as discriminatory and exclusionary.

I'm so tired of womanhood and my lesbian identity being open for anyone else to claim. They cant understand why we are fed up. Its the epitome of entitlement. End rant.
